  2. You might have seen news regarding the impact of the Coronavirus on Chester Zoo - they are closed indefinitely and as a charity, they have no incoming funds. They are appealing for donations of particular tree species to use as animal feed (see attached photo for details) I hope that you’ll all pass the word round to anyone you know working in the area? Donations of feed for the animals could make a huge difference to the financial future of the zoo! Thanks 👍

  12. Hi All, At Christmas I broke 3 ribs and the past month I've felt like I'm on the mend. Cutting a very long story short, I've taken on a pollard of a medium sized Willow. But half way into the job ive realised my ribs are not sorted afterall! I need someone desperately to finish the job and take away the brash. I need to keep the customer happy. I will try attach photos below. The job is in Dunham Hill, On Chester Road. Just off the M56 junction 14 - WA6 0LL So far I have managed to pollard half of the tree maybe more than half. And I've shifted the brash too. I need someone who can give me a price to come in and sort it. And as soon as possible would be great! I think I'll stick to hedge trimming for the next month at least! Thanks for reading Here is the tree: http://instagram.com/p/0iFTqtpHtk/
  13. Hi all, Just wanting to know if anyone knows of any Bushcraft groups in Cheshire? Near Delamere Forest? I'm hoping to join one if one exists! Worth a try asking on here I suppose :-)
  14. Hi all, I hoped I would never need to post in this section but unfortunately I need to. My dad had a Stihl 036 stolen on Monday night from FRODSHAM in CHESHIRE. Along with other expensive tools such as 2 Dewalt cordless drills and a Dewalt bench saw. The 036 has a WA6 postcode clearly marked on it and the only other thing we can think of is that the petrol cap looks much much newer than the oil cap. The saw was in a plastic Stihl hard case with a padlock on so were not expecting the case to be around anymore. BASTARDS! Loads of similar thefts in the area involving sheds and garages. One thing which pissed him off is that a really old Black & Decker electric drill was taken too. Some would say they are crap drills but this one was bought for him by my mum when he was 23, he is now in his late 50's!!! Back in the day when my mum saved up every last penny so my dad could have his own drill.... Really upsetting in a way. I am so angry, times like this I wish hanging and stretching of criminals was still allowed. My dad is fully insured but to get the saw back would be fantastic. The shed it was stolen from was part of a fin forest summerhouse which has solid doors and good locks. There were 2 security lights and a locked gate but they still managed to steal the gear. So my note to everyone is make sure you take extra steps in security because it is horrible and I am sick and tired of seeing more and more gear go missing from ArbTalk users. I once read that most home owners upgrade their home security once they have been broken into. Spend a little money now because you need it…….. Any info, please contact me: leeoulton@live.co.uk Reward will be given, Thanks all,.......

  17. Hi all, I have had an email today from a demo firm offering a mature magnolia tree for sale on an old school site. I dont know anything about transplanting so I thought I would pass it onto you guys. I would like to learn a bit about this as I have never looked into transplanting large trees. I am currently a student and any bits of info about anything is always great to hear. There are 2 more pics but I cannot add them as it will only allow me to add 4 at a time. Is transplanting a good thing to do? but I suppose it will be felled if no buyers come forward. We all love trees!!!! Like I said, I know nothing about this and any info would be great. If anyone would like the contact details for this demo firm, please pm me. THE TREE IS LOCATED AT THE OLD FRODSHAM HIGH SCHOOL SITE, FRODSHAM CHESHIRE, WA6 6SP Thanks guys, Lee
