  1. Replaced it at 21hrs like the book said, hydraulic filters aren't expensive but worth changing to keep the system clear of contamination from the manufacturing of the machine.
  2. Was on thorn as well today, 1 1/2 rb loads of the stuff but hardly touched any of it as fed it all with digger and grab, thought the quadchip ate thorn well till I got the st8.
  3. Not sure exactly what it will lift but dragged pushed and wrestled that 12ft oak but onto the trailer fine, loaded some decent size pieces with it so far. I've had the bracket made so it'll also fit a friends 8ton bobcat so if we're on a bigger job he can fetch that out and gain the benefits of more lift and longer reach, potentially got a big felling job coming up which it will be ideal for so looking forward to sharing that.
  4. Really like your 2nd pictures Edward, the morning light at this time of year is brilliant for that type of image
  5. Left the lads to there own devices as well today to get this oak down while I finished a job of elsewhere then fetched digger out to load the timber once they had it down. Pleased with how they did on whatll be the biggest job iv just left them to it.
  6. Definitely been on here before but for those that haven't seen it enjoy. 3rd clip is my favorite.
  7. I was under the impression that it was the tipping gear and sub frame that needed to be type approved, adding high sides is affectivly part of the load or a way to hold the load in place while travelling so no different you strapping a box to the bed full of parts.
  8. Was grab feeding big long willows into mine last week and it's the only time I've ever thought that kind of hopper would be useful, normal hand feeding the fold down type is so much better imo
  9. Playing in leaves with my boy
  10. A collection found in the local arboretum on a fung day and a nice example of merip on a beech I went to look at as it had a dead branch in it?!? Note my shades for scale.
  11. Yip, if only I'd left it on.
  12. First call out for a while, this was apparently just a branch down that needed cutting in half and clearing? Wish I'd left the digger on the trailer before going!
  13. Well iv eventually got the grab on and piped up. Had fun lifting some overhanging willows out this pond so the lads could dredge out 50od years of filth.
  14. I'll bring out my willens t20 full body harness, 3 strand bungy rope and the horrendous Swedish strop I started with for you to try and you'll sharp see why we were keen to progress and get better gear.
  15. Shredded pallets? Could be a problem with binding together and bridging in the hopper above the auger as it won't flow very well, could be almost too dry for some systems.
  16. I cut things up smaller rather than busting my back lifting big stuff or get a machine to do it for me, when climbing I rig more to avoid cut and hold which normally means lass raking up small broken branches at the end of the day and I carry far less unnecessary stuff on my harness 'just in case ' if I need it I get it sent up as nd when it's needed.
  17. Hell Yeh!! but at 30k it's a bit steep :'(
  18. Now all the 1st set of pictures makes sense, good work.
  19. 😹😹👍👍👍💥😸🎅👏
  20. You lot are nasty But I like you...😜
  21. Used a botex 360tl on 3pl and it was the most cockley horrid crane to use until a chipper was bolted to it to hold it down, Seem to remember snapping part of the top link casting on the tractor from the twisting force it could exert if you weren't careful. Far better to have something properly mounted or on a trailer for any sort of heavy lifting.
  22. Far easier to have a 2-3 metre length of rope with 1 end tied round your lowering line with a Blakes hitch which makes it very adjustable, problem with slings is if there too short they can effectively 3 way load your crab on the lowering line as the angle can be steep but with a longer rope section there is no crab and the angle can be shallower.
  23. So glad thus site is moderated and generally good natured, yes we jest and occasionally prod for a reaction but what you just described is exactly why I stay off treebay, Facebook etc where it's almost a free free-for-all. I'm with you on your approach to what'd happen if it was my family he was talking about and threatening 💥
  24. Yeh new version Is far more refined and just over 500
  25. Definitely a 039 farm boss, horid saw, slow top heavy shaky build but quite gutsy for a semi pro saw that probably 15 years old.
