  1. I got a couple of abr rings to see how they compared and definitely a lot less mettle in them than the competition and the rope won't sit in them as well, won't use mine as terminal rigging point any more since getting a selection of x rings.
  2. For a awful second there I thought the landy was being towed out the field by the white pickup,
  3. Almost as treequip said it's all relative, I've work with some climbers who thought themselves truly awesome but can't get near what I can achieve in a day and then I've been with climbers who thought themselves kind OK at what they do and they've handed me my ass on a plate! A good climber is 1 that gets the job done and go's home at the end of the day hassle free....every single day!
  4. Ahhh you mean I was lifting all that and she's unballasted, just shows how heavy the rest of it is!!
  5. Get in contact with someone like rgb forestry, practicality Browns who have those machines and do it day in day out and the cost of the operator will seem like nothing compared to the extra production familiarity with the equipment will bring.
  6. Nast, I squeamish as fook about eyes and had to have metal removed from mine before my last mri on my knee because if you go in that big magnet with metal parts in you nasty things can happen....apparently. Yes those ointment dyes are fantastic, day glow yellow or green snot for about a day nd a half afterwards!
  7. Just wish I had the tractor available all the time as it's busy daddy's and spends most of its time on a biomass chipper but on quiet days I try and snaggle it away from him to do my heavy lifting.
  8. Just got sent this picture and thought it worth sharing, nice little weekend side line and with this little chipper as a bean grinder you'd be set.
  9. Especially since cab mounts have no stabilisers and just rely on the pure bulk of the tractor under them, some people don't rate botex but not many can handle big hardwood like these do but any crane is better than cutting up and handballing if the access it available!
  10. Madness and genius all in 1 machine that's for sure, would love to see a site manages face if you turned up on site with it over here!
  11. Why do things with blood pressure when it can be done with hydraulic pressure 😉
  12. No where neer, I could get to Newcastle in the same time as it'd take to get to tad. Most local well known brewery to me is black sheep at Masham.
  13. Newcastle brown = angry fight juice from collage days, nasty stuff! She looks a bonny 1 for sure Paul!
  14. Colourful little blighter found in my garden today, book tells me it's verdigris toadstool (stropharia aeruginosa) Anyone fancy correcting me if I'm wrong.
  15. Bit bigger than what she's normally handling and most of it on the opposite side to when you've got the chipper on her so that tyre might be a bit softer.
  16. Possibly but would have needed a much bigger winch with spades which would have done quite a bit of ground damage as there was more crown on the far side than this due to a large oak being this side till that went a few months back. The risk of whichever stem you anchored to failing without bringing the whole tree over was a worry and as it happens we still put a floating v onto the two main stems just to make sure the load was spread. 14m3 of chip and 3 trailer loades of timber so was a deceptively large crown on it.
  17. What he said ☝👆 My arborist vents have a zip out tick guard and if that's just in the wrong place it's agony. Boots also big help, I have arbortec profells which being quite a high boot really help compared to my old airstreams which offered hardly any support. Geckos for me too by the way had them since before they were in the UK and would have nothing ells.
  18. Might know where a barely used 1 is if lad fancy parting with it might be worth a pm.
  19. Go for the 3001, we have given it lots of use with some big timber and apart from 1 bent pin and a bust strap handle both from direct hits from the last bit before felling it's survived everything unscathed.
  20. Looked at the same size 10'x5' tipper but sticking with the 1 I have for another year at least.
  21. That's the 1, think the wife might hurt me if she found out I'd got 1! 😲
  22. Gopro hero 3 black, been tempted to get 1 of the new little 1ns for helmet mounting and use this 1 for everything ells.
  23. Trying to get away from just point of view, not that there's anything wrong with that sort but always interesting to be different if it works, moolah was a big help getting quite a few of the shots while I was working the saws or crane, thought I was going to destroy the camera at 1 point sitting it on a log to get picked up and it got trapped between two logs but luckily just scuffed the case.
  24. Ah this has a full hight box fitted for chip but I think it's around that price.
