  1. Was that with Jason Paul? One of my old crew leaders from way back when I did line work.
  2. Friends little dear found a wet spot and I got a sos to go rescue him and a pond clearing job that the dumper had to be helped out the slops every time. Normally when we get proper stuck it's either cold wet or dark but normally all 3 so pictures don't happen, will have a look on old pc for some of the rescue missions we have been on as make an effort to photograph them for bragging rites.
  3. Here is an interesting twist to my original post. The listed building which the tree grows next to is actually part of the former council offices which are currently empty but they are still paying rent on this as they had a long term tenancy agreement with the local Lord until a point a new tenant can take over the property. Yesterday I get a call from the planning department asking if I can prioritise the work on this tree as a new tenant has been found but won't take the offices until the tree has been worked on and gutter and roof damage repaired. Shame it took them 10 weeks to grant the permission, could have saved themselves a whole bunch of rent!
  4. That's the badger Joe, cheers. Bottle of wine I got for putting tow tree and lights up slowing my brain tonight.
  5. 😳 Ah well, the last time I used a prussic was about 10 years ago and last time I used a spider jack I nearly went for a dirt induced long nap. Blue tongue is good I'll give it that but really like my tachyon especially on the zigzag which you introduced me too, so I've got you to thank for that.
  6. Treat your new zigzag to a new rope, tachyon it's the snizle bud!
  7. But can only be used with max 13mm rope and rated at 17kn so only real light duty really.
  8. I'm going to go for the staged removal argument to do with minimising soil heave near a listed building, as most at our lpa don't have a clue it'll fly easy!
  9. Bet that shiny pile cost a decent amount, I really want to work out how to splice the double rings like your blue set. Should be able to do some complicated rigging with that lot.
  10. You can do a locking brummel at both ends it's just a little trickier to do, watch this and it'll show you, I really like my beast ring and ring.
  11. 2 years on the permission so technically I guess I could very slowly remove it should I wish.
  12. That's kind of what I thought Joe but thought I'd put it out for a 2nd take.
  13. Ow and cost of doing this isn't a problem to them as already discussed this.
  14. Strange 1 this week, Ash tree about 30 years old between a listed building and a restraunt, the owner asked me to price and apply to remove the tree as it's branches are starting to affect the roofs of both property's and block out a lot of light from 2 of the few window at that side of the listed building. Applications approved by council. Owner now wants me to prune and reduce the tree to clear the properties - for now. Question is, if in summer when it leafs up again they decide it's still a nuance can we still go ahead and remove it altogether as per the original job spec.
  15. Unfortunately power lines rarely give 2nd chances, you either get away with it or things go very bad very fast and the fall out can be bad both financial for the company in fines and physically to anyone court up in it. From what I was led to believe when enquiring about shut down's recently fines can be issued even if you get away with it and nothing go's wrong but the region op becomes aware of the situation especially if the line has already been surveyed by the appointed clearance company and scheduled for clearance. Shutdowns are free for vegetation clearance, just a pain to schedule in at this time of year, I know - havnt needed 1 for 2 years and suddenly got 3 on the waiting list to do.
  16. Definitely missing a few modern safety feature in that picture but good find 😉
  17. Last night's joy, someone had had a chew at it and stolen all the small timber on this side of the wall but looking at the curvy cuts had also had a little chew at the road, was fairly easy as cut it in two and dragged it down the road onto a big grass verge and what was left cut and Chuck over the wall to clear the footpath, quick blow of sawdust and done. 👍
  18. Ha ha that's brilliant, hard ad nails nd tape int ed fur sure!
  19. Thought it looked very nice and incredibly delicate, I could see little puffs of spores as big rain drops were hitting them which was interesting to watch. Thanks for naming it for me David, was going to look it up once kids are in bed 👍
  20. After doing it for a few years iv pretty much got it sussed what we need for the majority of stuff, 560 390 pole saw blower shovel big turning bar and vehicle with winch on, slings strops and snatch block bag. Head torches.
