  1. i suppose if you have contacts in the area and they say its safe, i wouldn't argue as they are on the ground so to speak and see what's happening minute by minute whereas the fco probably hasn't got the latest info. Personally, i'd just go with gut feeling.

    lmao:corkysm21:
  3. just had a look at their website, and noticed next to the seat covers for land rover defenders 'Not suitable for seats fitted with airbags'. Does anybody know of a defender with airbags in the seat or even any airbags?
  4. if he was innocent, why did he run? If you've got nothing to hide then there shouldn't be any probs when the police pull you, should there? But do agree it was sad for somebody to lose their life like that rather than in old age at home in bed asleep.
  5. woodpicker, i'm fairly close to IC trees so i'll get in touch with him and follow him over. Whinmoor's near seacroft, so i'll be coming round the ring road for most of the journey, unless the sat nav on ian's truck says otherwise!
  6. Woodpicker, i think i know which junction of the A65 it is but just need to be sure. I'll probably be coming through Guiseley past Harry Ramsdens.
  7. Apparently you can call yourself a tree surgeon if you buy a chainsaw and a set of extension ladders from B&Q and have a pickup nicely sign written and knock on peoples doors:ohmy: No training, no insurance etc.
  8. Ian do you know where woodpickers yard is? If you do, do you mind if i follow you; i think i know where it is but just want to be sure.
  9. i'll pick you up scottie at about 8.30-8.45 but hopefully will see you before then at the fox (posssibly tuesday night?)
  10. I think i should get a piece of this prize aswell Mesterh as i seem to have killed off a few threads with a post:sad:
  11. blimey dean, you could tow a supertanker with that:scared1:
  12. I'm good with that. SJH, whereabouts are you? Dean, how do i get to your wood again, straight across the big roundabout and go past the crem?
  13. John why not show the versatility of our beloved landys and have the first LRAG meeting at one corner of the Arbtalk village:001_tongue:
  14. SWB, you should see the one i asked dean to come and have a look at: a big fagus that hasn't been touched for about fifty years(slight exageration) on a slope with gravestones and a public footpath underneath. Still he's game for taking it on just need to see what the church committee says. Oh and access is a total nightmare with the brash drag from hell.
  15. Hate people singing "I'm a lumberjack...." as soon as you say what you do:thumbdown:
  16. rich, what does a little bit more vibration matter when you're driving a defender; saves having to buy a massage chair:001_tongue: Of course most of the people who complain about defenders aren't built right for them, you need to be a shorta--e like me.
  17. so that's where all the gritters went to.
  18. Or could it be those lads from the youtube video which caused a bit of a stir on here about whether it was right or wrong?
  19. Shelanders will only pull 2,000kg but a proper land rover will drag 3,500kg, even an old series 3 can tow the same as a freelander. Better off with either the disco or defender tbh.
  20. Or you can go for a full day without needing a dump or going for a pee!!
  21. "whilst you're here could you just......?":001_tongue:
  22. oh dear rich ithink you need to order a taxi and get your coat for that one:001_tongue:
  23. my local dealer doesn't have a flash showroom but they've still had to put their prices up due to the manufacturers. The only thing that hasn't gone up in price are the hayter mowers that they sell (made in britain).
