  1. blimey dean, you could tow a supertanker with that:scared1:
  2. I'm good with that. SJH, whereabouts are you? Dean, how do i get to your wood again, straight across the big roundabout and go past the crem?
  3. John why not show the versatility of our beloved landys and have the first LRAG meeting at one corner of the Arbtalk village:001_tongue:
  4. SWB, you should see the one i asked dean to come and have a look at: a big fagus that hasn't been touched for about fifty years(slight exageration) on a slope with gravestones and a public footpath underneath. Still he's game for taking it on just need to see what the church committee says. Oh and access is a total nightmare with the brash drag from hell.
  5. Hate people singing "I'm a lumberjack...." as soon as you say what you do:thumbdown:
  6. rich, what does a little bit more vibration matter when you're driving a defender; saves having to buy a massage chair:001_tongue: Of course most of the people who complain about defenders aren't built right for them, you need to be a shorta--e like me.
  7. so that's where all the gritters went to.
  8. Or could it be those lads from the youtube video which caused a bit of a stir on here about whether it was right or wrong?
  9. Shelanders will only pull 2,000kg but a proper land rover will drag 3,500kg, even an old series 3 can tow the same as a freelander. Better off with either the disco or defender tbh.
  10. Or you can go for a full day without needing a dump or going for a pee!!
  11. "whilst you're here could you just......?":001_tongue:
  12. oh dear rich ithink you need to order a taxi and get your coat for that one:001_tongue:
  13. my local dealer doesn't have a flash showroom but they've still had to put their prices up due to the manufacturers. The only thing that hasn't gone up in price are the hayter mowers that they sell (made in britain).
  14. According to the firm that imports aspen into this country, it was developed by an engineer at volvo or saab to reduce the emissions from their cars but was prohibitively expensive in the quantities required as its made from the distillates at the top of the cracking towerat the refinery, so he left there and sold his idea to the forestry market and lo we have aspen 2 and 4 stroke. I've even heard of people buying some 4 stroke for their car to run on leading up to the mot so the emissions are lower:sneaky2:. I think the importers are anglo american oil
  15. there's a couple of hydraulic winches for sale on witham specialist vehicles website, i know one of them is a rotzler so its a damn good make of winch.
  16. Steve, just looked on their website and it says that you can now hire their trailers from portsmouth trailer hire; might be worth a punt?

    chapter 8

As has already been said having chapter 8 could mean the difference between having a job or popping down to the local dole office every fortnight:thumbdown:. Also if you go for a position at another firm and there are two lads including yourself who have the same amount of experience but the other lad has chapter eight, who would the employer probably choose?
  18. not to mention your hands look like you've been grovelling in the coal bunker when they get hot and sweaty in the timberlands.
  19. i'd say you had enough

    Batman

i didn't mean the prodigious intake of alcohol, more the slim build of the character.

    Batman

I wouldn't have thought JJG looked anything like Bunny from Blazing Saddles, probably more like Jim:001_smile:
  23. "excuse me whilst i whip this out":scared1: classic film swb
