all the manufacturers say that the whole purpose of the protection is to MINIMISE the risk of serious injury and the ppe should not be expected to provide total protection. Well thats what it says in the stihl catalogue anyway.

its all to do with heat exhaustion; apparently the dutch have ditched type c for climbers due to too many accidents occurring due to heat exhaustion or heat stroke. I've had the latter and it ain't fun.

I remember hiring this machines really big brother (12") from orange plant. Apparently they only made a handful of these 12" tracked beasts. Even that had the controls above the hopper but it also had the bar round the bottom.

this has already been done by the firm that mog owners love to hate, land rover put nokken winches on most of the forward control 101's that went to the royal artillery so they could pull the guns out if need be. And they go for the same sort of price as a decent mog.
