  1. Spent the day on the set of kay mellor's last piece 'A passionate woman' with sue johnston, alun armstrong and a couple more. It was when i had the landy and they needed a land rover from the period (mid 80's) to tether the hot air balloon to but it was too windy to inflate the envelope so i was just lurking in case the weather got better. the grub was top notch and i was chatting with alun armstrong. and the pay wasn't bad either:biggrin:
  2. anyone had any experience of N and J Aluminium Linings?
  3. I note that the workmen started under the cover of darkness 'so they could make an early start'. Also why are they not letting anyone see the centrepiece of the memorial which is in storage so its condition can be verified.
  4. i get similar symptoms whenever there are foxgloves around (often the first thing to disappear under the strimmer:laugh1:) I use a herbal tablet which is non-drowsy called Pollena by nelsons, i think it is available in most health shops like holland and barrett.
  5. the other lads were probably too shocked to do anything, i mean you don't expect that when you're working.
  6. will we be treated to a display of 020 guitar playing, mark?
  7. unfortunately missing out on all that this year due to lack of funds and exams the following week. Hope you lot have a good time and the Pied Bull has enough staff on this time:sneaky2:
  8. How about an RB44?
  9. if you use power point, tony, just remember that less is better when it comes to your slides and also use animations on your slide so that as you come to a subject it appears on the board.
  10. Quadrophenia?
  11. Charlie, i look after some trees in a churchyard and there is a beech tree which has a similar staining on it so i will be following this thread with interest
  12. not me johnny, some dim wagon driver let his wagon catch fire on the QE2 bridge:sneaky2:
  13. ian i now drive an old style l200 double cab but when the ps hose went last august just before justin's show i got a navara as a courtesy vehicle through the AA stay-mobile scheme and i thought it was a nice motor and i didn't feel tired after the journey which included sitting in a traffic jam for about three hours.
  14. have you asked rhodes of bramham who they use?
  15. i remember at the get together at jonny's yard, barry from orange plant brought one along and it had bits of concrete thrown through it and it seemed to cope quite well although they were only small chunks.
  16. how about a protea mower with all the trimmings including a sulky seat?
  17. Tree geek if the rivets are steel and the spikes are aluminium then it could be electrolytic corrosion which is something all land rover owners are familiar with. Its just the two metals having a tiff.
  18. Deer Man just name a price. I'm pretty sure most people on here would gladly pay it for something that could save lives and help lads whose lives have been saved by this product.
  19. Deer Man, how much would H4H like to receive in return for each dressing?
  20. hazzy they sound like overlays for scotopic sensitivity syndrome which some dyslexics suffer from including myself although i used the glasses which are made by a firm called Irlen Lenses. These do help although i have stopped wearing mine as they cost a hell of a lot of money as the lenses are tinted to a very precise shade.
  21. a technique i've learnt at college this time round steve is to write keywords down on library index cards and use different colour inks depending on how important the word is. I've found that this does help with fact retention for me.
  22. steve, i have dyslexia and dyscalcula and i would say that i am organised disorganised (if that makes sense). I'm the same in that everything has to be regimented and if anything crops up unexpectedly, i'm completely flummoxed as to how to cope with it. i just take a deep breath and try to prioritise everything or i sometimes just breakdown and have to go sit in a corner for a few minutes to sort my brain out. I know this isn't what you were looking for but i know how you feel so will be watching this thread very closely and thankyou for posting it as i dont think i would have the guts to start a thread like this due to low confidence.
  23. how about "Health and Safety issues arising from one handed use of top handled chainsaws"?
