1. Before you take the advice of "Get what you can but look for other work" etc, why not just have a chat with him? His excuse of not getting paid until he does is a crap/poor one but have you really talked about the payment problem or just had a quick passing word? If he says thats the way its going to be you can easily make a decision on whether to move on or not but if in general the work and money is good then it is surely worth coming to some agreement. FTW I never owe anyone anything, ever. They get paid at the end of the week or the end of the job depending on the situation.
2. Ill make sure I dont answer the phone then. Working in the dark when its wet and windy just isnt my bag, money isnt that important.
3. Just wash them like normal clothes so they dont look bad and stink then just keep the chainsaw away.
4. Remove both spark plugs and have a good look at them. Wouldnt be surprised if the one closest to the cutter head is oiled/carboned up.
5. A very, very rough idea of cost is £500+VAt a day.

Home Brew

Sloe and damson gin, with a hint of almond and cinnamon. Made some nice beers from Brupaks, pride of yorkshire kits. Was a while ago though.
7. I think you are spot on there. Headmaster has lost his authority and made a rod for his own back. Parents are only doing what they instrinctively know/do, backing up their kids when they see them threatened by others, usually that soon changes when the child does something that the parent doesn't agree with though.
8. Bar gets pinched close to the saw body then something else drops/springs onto the rest of the bar. Im guessing windthrow stuff.
9. I would imagine FR Jones could get them for you. I only looked into it as in it can be done, never got around to ordering some though.
10. I don't see what the big problem is. What he did worked, and worked well surely that can't be denied!! I wouldnt have done it the same way, but then if anyone followed what i do they could just as easily be harmed if that's what all the big palava is about.
11. You can change them to the leather strap one and I do keep meaning to do it. But I also said that about renewing my old spikes and that took 10 years. Yes the Velcro one is rather pooh. Tbh I don't know how someone can design something so useless when what they had worked fine.
12. Sounds like a good man trying to do his job. For far too long have kids gotten away with far too much. Maybe if parents brought there kids up properly to abide by the rules and listen to their elders then the teachers wouldn't have such a hard time and have to take these actions.
13. I wonder if it would be another thread with different views if it was a veteran oak/beech etc.
14. Well you cant believe anything anyone says really. So you either believe what the OP says or you dont comment. Otherwise there would be no comments on any threads where someone makes a statement. Just because the OP says the paper said X makes it no more unbelievable than if the OP said I saw X. That reads like a dogs dinner but hopefully my point is made somewhere. We can only comment on the perceived facts.
15. Surely that's irrelevant.
16. Your heartless bugger. I reckon you would if you came home to see your mog being raped by a scrap man. Common we have to give respect to the people we work for and there possessions. I would be absolutely gutted if it was me or my company that had carried out the work in question.
17. Too right!!! Imagine it was your pride and joy(insert here 1950's corvette,Triumph norton or any other possession you hold dear) the cost is irreverent, if they towed it away and smashed it up but said sorry we can give you something like it but its not the same would that be ok? Anyway I agree with you, old people should be hanged, they complain too much.
18. I think your missing what happened here. Someone had there pride and joy destroyed for no reason whatsoever. To us its 4 15 feet connies which lets be honest should have been done and dusted in 20 mins flat so it shows the type of professional that carried out the work(smashed plant pots, trunks everywhere, didnt stop when told to etc etc)but to the old dears its privacy and maybe a bit of greenery in an urban concrete jungle. They probably had their garden destroyed and who knows what other problems it will cause them. I always make sure 100% that I am removing the right tree. When its gone its gone.
19. That piston is toast and would be surprised if the cylinder isn't knackered too. Looks like you are going to have to strip it down to see the total damage, and find out what caused before you get any replacement parts(if you are going to repair it) look on eBay for non oem pistons/cylinders, less than half the price if you want to repair on a budget.
20. What a very silly thing to do, at least it was a warning and you know what to do in the future, ie get someone to drop you off at the hospital to save the parking fee.
21. No offence but i presume from your previous posts that you dont do that much tree work. There are so many variables while pricing up tree jobs, its easy to get some wrong. Its easy to bung a nice big price on though to cover all possible problems, but then some people have to compete more than others.
22. Some from St Lucia. Couldnt afford to go there now.
23. Thats a cracking one.
24. I would say it's worth checking to see if the pump blocks up like it does on the 020's.
25. Black hybrid poplar is my guess. That or silver birch.
