  1. Well and truly seconded. BTW That Janet one is garbage and makes me want to slit my wrists.
  2. Sounds like its the feed from the engine to the autobox, the one that tells the box what speed the engine is running at. The feed usually comes from the alternator/stator depending what engine it has. The wire could be broken or the alternator/stator could be knackered, or it could be the autobox. Check the wiring and also check the battery is getting 14V ish volts when running at highish revs.

    Movember

Do you all realise you will only ever achieve Freddie Mercury status and never reach the full height of the Magnum. Although he looked like a gay biker too.
  4. Ive done quite a few butterfly stitches but when it comes to needle and cotton I think it best to get a pro in. Although I have had to remove a few stitches that havent disolved but have just got infected! NHS cut backs no doubt.
  5. Good to see you have a proactive LA. I reckon I could keep our one busy for the next year or so if they bothered to carry out the work.
  6. Totally agree but ive also seen lads who have 'served time on the tools' who you certainly wouldnt want to be around never mind hand a job over to or pay a decent wage. I guess there is no real way to prove your worth than to be seen doing the work. Its a good job I just advertise myself as being shite, no hidden surprises.

    Sleep

Sleeping is probably the best bit of my life. I would be well gutted if I had problems snoozing. The bit between the snooze alarm can sometimes last nearly an eternity for me. I know its not helping but then Im not going to loose any sleep over it.
  8. Looks very ugly and I doubt many would like to trust it but I bet it would still take more than enough to snap it! Besides, I only use it to hang the silky from which doesn't get used anyway.
  9. Does anyone(and I dont just mean on Arbtalk, anyone of us 7 billion on the planet) know exactly why we have ended up in this state? As far as I can see, everyone is still paying their mortgage, loans CC etc and the shops are still rammed and have been all year with paying customers! The price of food, fuel and utilities have sky rocketed but we are all still buying the same amount. I reckon theres a good chance that if the media just shut up and the G20 stopped having meetings and swapping money about for the next year or so then it would all just blow over. That or WW3 is quite likely.
  10. They are always the best. I fashoined up a very simple one that uses the pulse take off on the 020, I jammed a bit of rubber between cylinder and exhaust and between the carb and handle. Worked well enough to see the crank seal leaking. The spark plug one sounds better though and I have a leakdown tester (home made obviously!) so it wouldnt be hard to get that working. Cheers for the info.
  11. If you dont mind me asking do you use one of those fancy stihl gadgets that replace the carb to pressure test or just block the carb and exhaust off and pressure through the spark plug hole?
  12. I'm 99% sure it doesnt. Best bet would be to ask one of the dealers on the right hand side of the page.
  13. Whatever saw you buy read the manual that comes with it and RUN it in properly. Don't get it out of the box and hammer it from the word go.
  14. I hope you are going to treat it rough and try to break it in that week.
  15. If the above are true then it proves what a total farce the whole thing is! Either a vehicle towing a trailer is dangerous(or what ever reason they give)* or it isnt, exempting certain vehicles or people is ridiculous. * plus I assume they have detailed stats that show there is a major problem while towing which can be sorted out with an OL:laugh1: Anyway Im just going to ignore it all as most do in regards to the towing <750kg category B license stuff. Oh and if anyone thinks im being bad and making the roads unsafe by doing the above then I hope you are doing EVERYTHING in your power to make sure ALL your vehicles are inspected regularly regardless if they require it by law or not.
  16. Well if driving is their job then fair enough but I guess that the vast majority of 3.5 tonner drivers only do a couple of hours a day behind the wheel.

  18. It would seem I live in a different world than you so I cant compare tbh.
  19. The only thing I look at these days is the access. The tree climbing/work is usually the least important part.
  20. Did you try what i suggested?
  21. Right, spark plug out, choke in off position, on/switch in off position, turn saw upside down so spark plug hole is facing the floor and pull starter handle quite a few times to see if any fuel and or oil drains out, if so keep doing this until it there is no more fluid pouring out. Clean and dry spark plug, warming the tip of the plug with a blow torch can help start a flooded engine. Put the plug back in and start as from cold. Good luck hope you get it running.
  22. No chance. The only thing a hand saw has over a chainsaw is noise, anything else is just an excuse to use a handsaw over a chainsaw ime. I have seen quite a few people try and argue they are just as quick in certain circumstances but after awhile they realise they aren't and have to get the saw out to keep up.
  23. Excellent, glad to see my efforts appreciated. Now stop stressing over my post and tell the Mrs to get a taxi and her mates to bugger off(unless they are dead fit of course!)
  24. Jesss you are all going to die young:001_huh: Thank God I only get stressed for about 10 secs than laugh it off no matter what the problem. The more you stress the worse it gets, period.
