  1. That would be enough for me to not work there. I dont break stuff but hate that attitude that some bosses have.
  2. My question doesn't directly relate to the OPs question but, what if the employer took a vid of an employee performing a section fell(all above board and the employee knew about it etc) and kept it on file. Would that not be proof enough that they are competent rather than say removing a few branches on an NPTC assessment? Surely it would prove competency if that's all the HSE are worried about etc. I know I would prefer to see someone actually do the job in hand than rely on a ticket. Just something I've thought about since many people seem to now want the tickets when in the 'old' days no one could be bothered going on the course and just wanted to get on with the job.
  3. I think the attitude of the copper even after it was all explained to him says it all. 'the sergeant I spoke to said was that if it had been him who stopped my brother he would have been arrested and charged!'
  4. Thanks. I might get one for the 046 and add an extra link in the chains.
  5. Thanks fellas. Meant to add mine has the extra tooth but I wasnt sure if it was 7,8,9 etc.
  6. I think the standard is 7 teeth with an 'upgrade' available with 8 teeth, can anyone confirm this? Thanks
  7. Good to see a lot of time and resources wasted for no good reason whatsoever. How do couriers manage to get away with delivering these highly dangerous weapons then! I find it quite unbelievable, do we need lawful authority to buy and transport kitchen knifes, shears, carpenters saws etc etc etc etc etc etc. Did you ask why they werent out chasing 'real' criminals?
  8. My quest for easy tree climbing could be around the corner! Well sort of, its getting cold enough in the UK for it to work.
  9. How does the increase in light shock/kill the tree? How does the tree react to prevent this when the amount of extra light is progressively introduced? All interesting stuff.
  10. Sounds like will have to drag it out, maybe electric winch. You might have to move the track levers as though you are tying to move it forward to open any valves. It will just make it easier to move. Or, just call a specialist hydraulic repair company who don't mind getting their hands dirty.
  11. Because they can multitask:001_rolleyes: There is a name for those type of climbers. A good climber can keep 2-3 groundies busy, a bad climber can keep 10 busy.
  12. Any climber that doesnt get stuck in needs a right good slapping out of the site. Anyone that complains about a chinstrap just shoudlnt be allowed on site in the first place.
  13. Its made of aluminium so I dont think that will apply. Nice info though. I usually have trouble keeping the wood in the wedge!
  14. From what I gather it has everything to do with what(the manufactures not the dealers) think they can get away with, bugger all to do with volume of sales etc etc. I base the above on what ive been told about products that arent arb related, but I guess it doesnt really matter what the product is.
  15. I tried tying a VT yesterday on a hitch climber and failed miserably even with a printout in front of me! I tried and gave up and went back to a prussik quite awhile ago but think I will persevere this time. But, I think I will give the Knut a try this time. Im more of a cnut of a climber anyway.
  16. Excellent news. Good to see it worked out good for you in the end. He sounded like a right miserable sod.
  17. What happens if he goes to pick the logs up and there isn't a trailer full? You know it will happen. Another big can of worms opened and a load more grief. Just cash the cheque and cross him off your list.
  18. The last thing I would do is go and pick them up, that's just more work for nothing and he will still complain to his neighbours about it. As long as you supplied exactly what you said you would then I wouldn't worry about it whatsoever. This is probably one in a million compared to all of the satisfied customers you have.
  19. You will probably find that if you follow ALL of the HSE rules your boss will bankrupt in no time but then again that wouldn't matter as you wouldn't make it out of the yard in the morning! If you can already do the job why the need for the ticket? Tbh though, and no offence if employees start mentioning HSE, duty of care etc they probably won't be around for long. Unless it's a really bad unsafe place to work but then you wouldn't be there I guess.
  20. Sounds like the best option is to just read the little pamphlet you get in a 1st aid kit. So I need to throw the celox away and buy a Defibrillator. At least these have an offer on. (M0703A): Heartstart Defibrillator FR2 (without ECG) KIT - L. E. West Ltd Just got to wait for some more stock.
  21. First thing I would check is that the carb isnt being jammed open. Then as mentioned an air leak, but with no throttle response at all I think its probably a jammed carb.
  22. Excellent job. Surprised it didnt rip the cable off the wall though!
  23. Isnt that bad for the engine though? I always thought that 2 strokes dont like to be left on tickover as it starves them of oil. Plus I would imagine that its even worse these days as they run so lean for emission control etc.
  24. Mesterh

    Free range?

An whats wrong with that!? Mmmmmmm I assume from the posts that organic is really the only/best option in regards to the health of the birds?
  25. Is this a tale of someone with no imagination? They are way better things to do with your time if you had the money.
