  1. Ported 3120xp always sounds lovely Nice! Still remember my grandad had a 2100cd and even the slow tick over 'ding ding' used to sound amazing
  2. I normally have my feet at "ten to two"as you may say none of my foot is normally touching the tree and I'm size eleven. Lean back into your lanyard and you'll have no worries, also if you feel unstable, cross your lanyard over in front of you or choke it off, ?
  3. Your feet shouldn't contact the tree when your spikes are in, or do you mean when limb walking?
  4. I was going to reply with bomford or Wessex, then I read the post ??. Nothing wrong with the 360echo, just a little bulky looking compared to the other two. Always picked it up before the 540 husky on the hot days this summer, pretty much first pull starting every time ?
  5. I think if you want to do that to it why not fell and replant.
  6. Not quite the same but I used that liquid gasket stuff on a case mx150 transmission/ back end gasket. I didn't have high hopes but when my employer sold it a few years later it was still holding up ok and never leaked.
  7. This game isn't about bravado mate, you don't want to be the coolest man in a wheelchair eating through a straw. Get some experience under your belt before whacking off heavy limbs in one. ?
  8. In the Berenek cutting in the tree dvd he demonstrates an undercut 3/4 deep (with boring) if I remember correctly on one limb he cuts all the way through from the compression side. Pretty cool and I have tried it, you can really get limbs to "pop off". Not really taught like that over here though!
  9. You missed out having ninja capabilities with a rake when it comes down to batting branches away from car windscreens and other targets
  10. The last wooden chip back I made I coated with bedec black barn paint. Worked a treat and looked pretty good?
  11. The old saying....."no smoke, no poke" ?. Hope you get it sorted ?
  12. Wouldn't like to say then. I had similar problems when I was younger with an old Hilux, bought it thinking it would probably need a head gasket when it actually had a cracked head....£1500 I knew all about it ☹️
  13. Engine would run fine, but would lose water and get hot...
  14. Head gasket/cracked head?
  15. Not run a Tanaka saw before, but I had only ever replaced one oil pump in many years of cutting, untill this year, two modern Huskies, two new oil pumps, the pumps seem pretty crap now.
  16. Jointing wise the gftk range (NCC streetscape I think) of resin and epoxy sands are best. They do different ranges. The geofix, cementone and other dry sweep in mastic sands are crap. Sealant wise resiblock is the sealant to last?
  17. The saws don't last long enough to wear them out now ?
  18. Do a lot like this, regular mower works well but hayterette or scag flail is best ?
  19. Wow what an opportunity! If I didn't have my own family I would have loved a chance like this ?
  20. I recon it's when the workshop gets a bit chilly and the welder goes home early ?
  21. Too true, never been a green mech fan though but had started to come round to the idea, a little off putting to say the least.
  22. Just when you're thinking of chopping your chipper in for a green mech......you see this......think I'll stick! Hope it gets sorted by them for you. It bloody well should be
  23. I was going to copy the chalk line idea... Still haven't got round to it. Yes I thought the cutting and rigging dvd was best but have climbing also which is useful, bit depressing seeing how good he is with a throwback though ?. Wife bought as presents from Wes spur I think.
