Durable fencing timbers? Do they exist anymore..

I do a fair bit of fencing too. Have also had posts rot off in less than three years. My supplier sells a drum called 'toughdip' not tried it but it's supposed to be pretty good. Just dip the submerged part of the post in before installation. They also supply the ground level wraps, thing these would look ugly though. I just try to creosote the bottom part of any wooden post if I can and when concreted in make sure that it's haunched to keep water/soil away from the base of the post. -
The new no stress unit on my entec is mounted totally different to the old. It it above the toothed wheel (looks like a sprocket) on the main shaft and reads that instead ?

560 is awesome, very powerful and lighter than the 357, but I don't think the build quality is anywhere near as good. Wish I'd never sold my seized 357 ☹️

Hard wearing arb tripod ladder recommendation

I use the 3leg adjustable work ware tripod, about £250 at honey brothers and have just bought the single leg adjustable 16ft. Seems really useful for the facing back sort of jobs, or reducing small Aileanthus that would be a pain to limbwalk out on. The 16ft was £390, my advice would be that it's transportation that damages them. Got some plastic pipe to strap to the new sets to stop the information chafing through them.? -
Prochip closed the week after my machine was repaired, they were based nextdoor to timberwolf in stowmarket. I do most of my own repairs, apparently the chipper doctor is pretty good, have spoken to him on phone for advice before. Nice chap ?

I had prochip replace mine on my entec just as Mike had his hand ripped in half. It was a whole new sensor and new mounting, a bit of adjusting. Etc. Cost around £320-350 I believe, around 8 years ago. No problem as yet....touch wood. My mate tried to mend the old box with an electronic friend, was a total waste of their time they said

Yeah, bearing makes more of a light knocking noise, my entec used to squeek when the pump belt got a bit slack

I drop a size on 3/8 for the last quarter of the cutter. Works a treat. Have done 11/64 or whatever it is on 3/16 but usually just stick with the 3/16. I recently saw that Buckin Billy Ray had made a video showing just what your asking about ?"friends" ?

Buy a JCB beaver breaker, bust the concrete, pull out the post, dig a narrow hole and you can add some of the small concrete chippings to your new concrete. Pulling is far too messy, I've seen old holes that look like they've been dug with a shovel!!

The iron on pfanner patches are brilliant. (If these work on Oregon?) You put them between the Kevlar and inside of the trouser and hold hot iron on for 20 seconds. It welds together. I don't have to sweet talk my wife to sow anymore.....just ask politely to borrow her iron ?

Good advice from others. Take plenty of packing etc so you can prop your gates while getting them right, check how they will open, sloping ground nearby etc. If you're hanging a pair (field gates)you'll need a throw over loop and a drop bolt, postcrete is normally handy for setting the drop bolt hole, so it sets before some ? gets chance to tamper with it after you've left. Don't forget to allow 10mm for wood swell where the gates meet?

I normally have my feet at "ten to two"as you may say none of my foot is normally touching the tree and I'm size eleven. Lean back into your lanyard and you'll have no worries, also if you feel unstable, cross your lanyard over in front of you or choke it off, ?

Your feet shouldn't contact the tree when your spikes are in, or do you mean when limb walking?

I was going to reply with bomford or Wessex, then I read the post ??. Nothing wrong with the 360echo, just a little bulky looking compared to the other two. Always picked it up before the 540 husky on the hot days this summer, pretty much first pull starting every time ?

I think if you want to do that to it why not fell and replant.

Not quite the same but I used that liquid gasket stuff on a case mx150 transmission/ back end gasket. I didn't have high hopes but when my employer sold it a few years later it was still holding up ok and never leaked.
