  1. Every parish has one ....don't they?!!?
  2. Is the throttle cable correct ( to right of filter), I must have knocked mine when cleaning out once on my MK1. Took me half hour to spot what was wrong. Wouldn't run right. Just a thought
  3. What do you think of the Honda blades on the largest double sided machine?
  4. Totally agree with the spacer comment. And the crap metal that makes up the Stihl blades. £25 is very reasonable. I only do a few a year and that's enough monotony for me ?
  5. I only de bur. If I sent my blade to be sharpened professionally I would expect spacers to be adjusted or changed for thinner ones. I wasn't having a pop just thought it's easier, in a vice etc
  6. It takes two minutes to take the blades off. You can clean out the hardened grease at same time and adjust spacers. I don't see how not removing them is better?
  7. Got sent this last week ?
  8. The only good point of these hedge cutters compared to the hs80 is that it's a piece of piss to take the blades apart without needle bearings flying everywhere. It doesn't have them. Just take the blades off. I normally just lightly debut them with a Dremel and then lower the spacers slightly, you need to take the blades off to make a proper job ?
  9. I saw that, looks well looked after to be honest I know that doesn't tell the full story but that Perkins would be bomb proof ?
  10. Another vote for the tree runner, 500. So simple to set up and use for any inexperienced groundy
  11. I was going to ask you to pm your day rate....but I won't bother now ☹️
  12. A round file!! I bought one a few years ago. The portek chain master ultra 3 I think. I had to make adjustments to the bloody thing to make it work. It's a pain in the arse, then u need to deburr. Just use a round file,?

111cc, would be fine for 48" milling ?
  14. You wouldn't go wrong with DeWalt, Makita or Bosch to be honest. Keep the batteries in the warm when the cold weather hits and you can revive "dead" batteries with scissors if one still has a bit of go in it. You can jump start it so it starts taking a charge again. Has kept my 17year old DeWalt 14.4 going. Not got the power it used to but is still capable ( beware some of the deals that only include 1 battery.)
  15. When I looked into the newer hilux's a few years back (after owning mark 3&4 previously) I decided not to go for another due to the lower load capacity and lower towing capacity. Nice trucks though, not sure if they have updated the towing with the new ones. I went for an Isuzu single cab, ugly machine but seems to be holding up well and pulls like a train. ?
  16. If it makes it easier tie it to you karabiner first, then just a normal prussik knot after that ?
  17. I have had a Billy, if you do buy make sure it has four large wheels, mine didn't and was crap on soft ground (grass in autumn) to be honest I didn't think it was quicker than by hand/blower and emptying the bag is a pain each time. I find a good blower, and large plastic dustbins/ton bags filled with the maspro big hands is the quickest and best way to clear leaves
  18. I subbed for a firm that has the timberwolf road towed petrol shredder, to be honest I wasn't too impressed. It bunged up the spout countless times and seemed pretty slow. They were putting hedge cuttings and 3inch brash through it. Heard the big timberwolf shredder is meant to be great though, pretty heavy looking machine.
  19. Will the other tuckwells be following soon? Would be great if the great dunmow branch had supplies ?
  20. Try a carb kit, sorted mine, similar problem ? good luck
  21. I got a little pot in the box with the black woodwalkers. My wife bought me the biggest pot of dubbin from Amazon, it's the really wet stuff that soaks in better than the solid dubbin. I try to take a crap pair of boots with me for clearing up or hedge cutting/bramble work. That's what shreds the boots quickly?
  22. I do a fair bit of fencing too. Have also had posts rot off in less than three years. My supplier sells a drum called 'toughdip' not tried it but it's supposed to be pretty good. Just dip the submerged part of the post in before installation. They also supply the ground level wraps, thing these would look ugly though. I just try to creosote the bottom part of any wooden post if I can and when concreted in make sure that it's haunched to keep water/soil away from the base of the post.
  23. The new no stress unit on my entec is mounted totally different to the old. It it above the toothed wheel (looks like a sprocket) on the main shaft and reads that instead ?
  24. Simargu make a female harness? you'll learn loads on arbtalk.... Good luck?
