I have the 360 top handle saw. It is a good saw for the price, not the best shape to drag round a tree and doesn't seem to have the power of a 200t or the husky 540t. That said on hot summer days I take it over the husky as it starts much easier. It's old school carb. One thing I noticed was that the 14"bar looked/was massive, make sure you put a 12" on it. It's more than adequate for all aerial tree work and has been reliable so far Good luck ?

As well as tree work I have cancelled for the next couple of weeks I have 2 fortnightly grass contracts, one at a school and another on a common area in a private estate of 40 houses. I cut them last week but not sure what to do....do I leave them to grow, I have a feeling that three weeks at home will not be the end of this.

Not at all. Just don't think the wording was particularly good, lockdown should have been the word used

I was a little confused, it says essential work or if you cannot work from home, I work alone, and can call customer from outside when/ if I arrive. The pm didn't use the word lockdown.

I've no issues with the 51 series, great tractors but as you said, not quite the cummins powered mx (they were cummins powered though, just not as refined). They are pretty much the same tractor as the mtx with just a different engine and while the Perkins lump in the mtx is good, it's not a patch of the cummins in an mx, completely different animal 51 was a good engine, but where I worked in my younger days we had two 5150, they were bollock crushers on the road and not the comfiest in the field, did the job though and pretty reliable....other than the pickup hitches

Those Cummins mx case we're brilliant, made in the McCormick factory, much better than the previous 51series and the newer crappy maxxums etc. Mtx same with Perkins engine I think

Nope, no staff here. But seriously in around two years my last set had worn holes right through the aluminium and the lower legs were battered, just from resting on the truck/trailer and driving around (strapped on too) -

Can a piece of thin plywood on the bottom stop them from splitting? Like they did on that redwood kings programme with the slices of redwood as large tables and timelines etc?

I have the one from machine mart, has 2x 240 sockets and has been great. Wasn't expensive and had option of a 110v too. ?

Haven't bought any saws off him but I did buy a scag 48 mower. It was in lovely condition and he even sent me out a steering rod that wasn't right when I got it. Top guy ?

Well I'm still here. The mis diagnosis cost me another round of chemo on top of what I should have had. Tingly fingers and a few trapped nerves is all I seem different to before, and my veins have shrunk. Still climbing, am a dad now and only have to be checked yearly, so all is good. Hope all you lot are still checking (or getting someone else to) your balls. Still got my fingers crossed for you Stubby?

I need to replace my Kombi kit but not sure which way to go. I have always had Stihl but after looking at the latest polesaw head it looks like a plastic piece of sh*t and not worth the money. Would be fine for pruning but I reckon on a hedge reduction it wouldn't last 5minutes. So in experience is the head as poor as it looks? And engine wise is the km94 the best engine to go for? I'd like the power of the bigger one but hate the 4mix engine. Thanks in advance ?

Recently had to change how I store my ropes etc. All in breathable rope bags and harness etc in a big husky bag. But it's now in a steel cupboard (to stop Rolands). Inside a tin barn, that gets very hot in summer, very cold in Winter and sweats if my neighbor has his heater on if in site. Am I worrying over nothing? How do you lot store your climbing kit?

I use one of these. Invaluable for hard clay, sharpen to cut roots (works like an axe) and splits concrete on jobs where it's not worth bringing the hydraulic breaker. I normally dig with a straight shaft grafter/rabbiting spade but near trees and in hard stony ground and dry clay this chissel and the shoveholers will do the job no problem.
