  1. You love it:blushing:
  2. Yes fella, have you booked a place yet? & well done!
  3. Thanks everyone, it's been tough so far but i'm sure all the hard work will pay off in the end. Rick be prepared to let it take over your life 24/7, I found that i really had to put in a lot of revision. I got up at 5am every day & did an hour before work, an hour at lunch time & 2-3 hrs at night. Oh & all day sunday. I also got in touch with an AA aproved consultant & shadowed him & still do which has helped me out so much. I've spent hundreds on books but you should be able to get most of them from the college library. Also tons of info on the internet. But it is the best thing i ever did, i've made some great freinds & contacts that will last a lifetime (Pommie the best one). It's opened up a whole new world of Arboriculture for me & i've thorougly enjoyed every moment so far. So to anyone thinking of doing it, go for it.
  4. Evening all just thought i'd share my good news with everyone, just got in from work & saw the dreaded letter waiting for me. Had a beer & a ciggie first then opened it. I passed the written exams & i've been invited to Arley Arboretum in October to carry out the Management Day exerices so i am well chuffed to bits. WooHoooo!
  5. Best of luck fella
  6. Haven't seen any proof that he is yet, i was told that they burried him in the sea, Can't find any photo's of it yet but i did here that Elton John has made a tribute song for him, it's called 'Sandals in the Bin'.
  7. i've sent you a pm fella
  8. hope you've got a good size garden then
  9. We pay around £800 for a day
  10. As Skyhuck says, i've also nearly killed myself doing a crane job & i've done quite a few now, you definatly need someone on the ground who is experienced in crane work to talk you through it,
  11. You are right to be cautious, always go with your gut feeling. If it don't feel right then don't do it fella, if i'm not 100% on my anchor point then i'll rope in twice or if poss use a mewp.
  12. cheers fella, they are a bit expensive arent they, hasn't put me off though

God damn it! crappy old eastenders on in my house:mad1:
  15. The tree owner proberly hasn't a clue that we're all discusing her tree? the tree owner has a duty of care under the owners & occupiers liability act 1957 to do what a resonable person would or would not do to keep their tree in check.Do they know it could cause a potential problem? i doubt it. Shouldn't the professional Arborist be giving them sound advice? & not ask us for any advice on the best way to poison the tree & then cover his tracks? This is all very wrong.
  16. Oh & by the way, if you do poison it i hope you get caught & get a slap fella.
  17. I can't understand why someone in this industry would want advice on how to poison a neighbours tree?? what an absolute idiot posting something like this on here. It is illeagal & well out of order, i think if there is any concerns regarding trees & properties then do it proper & get a report done or sort it out with all concernd & go about it in a professional mannor, not like a ***** fella.
  18. I'll have a couple to please
  19. Sorry fella, it was stephen, how did he do in the management day, tell him i said hello, is he a member on here? many thanks, glen.

  20. nearly everyone i know who's been cut using a saw has been using a silky, i only know 2 people in my 15yrs in tree work that have been cut by an 020
  21. has your signature been forged on he report then?
  22. Your employer would have quoted & arranged a time & date for the works to be carried out with the owners of the said trees. Your employer should also check to see if the trees have any legal constraints. He obviously didn't check. I go out & quote & recommend work for my company, i've even written one or two reports but i've never checked for t.p.o's/conservation areas unless i've been asked to by my boss. I can't see that you've done anything wrong, you've just given your opinion on the trees condition & recommended works, that's not commiting any crime. Your ex boss is at fault & he knows it. Don't worry about it fella:thumbup1:
  23. Smurfs?
  24. hello fella, was you at merrist wood last year doing tec cert with me? your name sounds familier

  25. I've used it one handed, left handed, right handed, both handed, work tried to introduce back handled 020's, i sent it back down after 10 mins because i couldn't use it one handed. The only time i've ever cut myself is with a flipping silky.
