  1. got any ideas how to snare the english.?They are just overwelming scotland at moment. esp edinburgh. thought about landmines but that could get messy. invasive species!
  2. will do that now. was looking into buying glyphosate in 20L but was costing £100 for it. I usually give them option of stump treatment with extra charge. Will just tell them its included now and use try salt. hope it works!!

  7. lol. i dropped a load of chips of the other day at blokes house. 10 80ft white populars behind house...he asked me to take a look...and then asked for tips on how to take out 40ft from the heads! ..told him not to do it...and explained how dangerous tree work is. him and his neighbours are going to tackle it though...
  8. been doing tree work for over 10 years only. Hands are in bad state. Can't extend my fingers backwards, have pain running up joints and can't flex wrists more than i cm or 2. contstantly have lumps of skin falling off. Really worried about being able to work in future as i think my hands are screwed. ( going to see hnad doctor tomorrow ) anyone else with similar probs?
  9. do the stronglifts program. rows, squats, overhead press and deads...oh yeah bench press also. Do nothing lese except this for 5 x 5 except deads. type it into google. best for beginners
  10. Yeah it is tough this year. been getting undercut on sround 70% of jobs i price and i have lowered my prices to £200 profit a day with 40k worth of gear. Seems that only a small hand full of people want to get a professional to do job...the rest want it done for nothing. going to see how the next few months pan out...if its still the same i am done with arb work. also...does anyone else work from 7am till 8pm regular to make there day rate?

  13. Yeah i understand what you mean. If i could i would just have cheap tinky van to run and profit the rest...but you need to set yourself apart from the ******..and there seems to be more and more of them. First impressions do count. Also if you are working in nice area and have nice sign written truck..it will bring the work in.
  14. I used to have a olkd beat up ldv. Was cheap to run, insure and i was able to find spare parts cheap for it..they only prob was that i was wanting my business to grow and i could not charge 500 a day for 2 man crew and turn up with old ldv. So my day profit was lower and i was working long hrs to make 250 a day. I decided to buy new truck and new chipper...now when i turn up to do jobs that i i have quoted high the costumer does not feel ripped off. They understand where to money goes and as long as the tree work is done well they are happy. I feel buying new truck / chipper was worth the risk. They only prob now is having higher Insurance, fuel is much higher and part are much more expensive. It all depends on what your goals are in business.
  15. i have bottled it. Its good to be scared and paraniod because so much things can go wrong. bnut not all the time as you will never get anything done.
  16. exactly right. also joint pain comes from lack of suppleness training and not doing jont mobility exercises.

  18. sitting on arbtalk damages your joints. lol Creatine is naturally found it meat and is good for people that don't eat a lot of red meats. If you train often that it will help but you can't take it all the time. The truth is that you do not need any protien powders , creatines etc. drink plenty milk and make sure you eat lots of veg, fish, nuts, meats, oats etc. Look at eugine sandow or arthur saxon..they never had any magic shakes to make them strong.

  20. hip flexor stetch, lower back and shoulder mobility stretch also hamstring and quad stretch. dynamic warmup it what olympic atheletes do first rather than static stretches. prob best to go buy a book on the subject as if you strech wrong you will become less flexable. pavels relax into stretch has good info in . dynamic streching is what you need to do first and relax stretching after. heres a vid on basic dynamic stretching.   21. No you are right mate. Cleans are great power and mass builder. Respect for doing them as most people don't do them as the don't offer as much hypertrophy as but flexes. lol
  22. yeah Yeti is spot on. keep those forearms in correct postion. Also with pressing doing these will increase you press and should always be done in most of you exercises. 1/ Squeeze the bar 2/ clench but cheeks like you are trying to hold a penny there. 3/ lift you quads and sqeeze. 4/ grip floor with toes 5/ deep breath while pressing to contract abs 6/ contract abs 7/ keep shoulders in socket 8/ squeeze lats ( pretend you are trying to hold something in your arm pit ) correct lifting positon is Very important - lie on back on floor and put both palms under your lower back / feet together - try pushing you lower back arch into the floor and you abs will contract. remember this position as you will do this in all you lifts.

Lifting weights makes you sluggish because you were prob doing the usual busy building stuff.? e. g bench press, curls flys etc Most guys who doing kettlebells , cleans and snatches , squats etc develop great leg and overall body power. so much so that there vertical jump goes up, 100m sprint gets better .
  24. yeah this is not my routine. been training hard for over 12 years now. I mix my training up a lot , front squats woth heavy kettlebells are good for hip mobility etc. Presses i do arm mostly kettlebell and power presses. up to 140k push press now. this program is good for newbies as they can male big gains on compound exercises...the amount of guys i see in gyms doing curls and leg presses who can't even squat there own weight is sad. yeah i was doing c&p's other day the are one of the best exercises.
