  1. Man killed after rope gets caught around neck and pulled into woodchipper. horrific! Gardener decapitated after rope slips around his neck and is sucked into wood chipper | Mail Online
  2. i use one rope and a side strop. 2 ropes if its a big tree and want todouble crotch etc. use both ends of rope is what everyone gets taught but you are better using 2 seperate ropes and putting them in rope bags if you like to climb like that. adopt your own style as others have said
  3. if you spike often then what happens is you body pics its favourite pattern. this goes for everything - running, walking etc. the way we stand and spikes we are building up strength in certain areas - hip flexors, glutes, quads etc. if we don't stretch often then this makes our muscles tighter. having stiff hips will cause back problems. and having stiff glutes you will also prob have stiff IT bands ( Iliotibial band syndrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) Having a stiff it band is what most climbers prob have and it pulls on the KNEE you see it all the time in climber - the monkey man walk due to really strong glutes and stiff hips /it bands etc Best thing to do is stretch when you can
  4. would say its better paid. If you get in with couple of companys and are good climber / worker then its ok. if you are beginner you don't have a chance as everyione recently wants to become a treee surgeon
  5. don't care what anyone says. spiking ain't good for your knees. Esp if you are heavier than 13stone. Its unnatural twisting of the knee..simples
  6. glasgow theres not too much work. too many tree surgeons now and the general public don't have idea of what a real tree surgeon is. Aberdeen is better as its the oil capital and plenty of money flying around. Edinburgh is better than glasgow to work. Regarding good climbers - not many in Glasgow not sure about elsewhere.
  7. thanks for all the replies. Think that i have crossed the l200 of my list as by the sounds of it ..cost more money to do repairs.
  8. I have a budget of £3500 for second hand L200. anyone with experience with these motors? Been lookiong around and for that price i can can pick on up with 80k miles on clock. any common problems with these 4x4's?
  9. put me down for one. was thinking about ordering one of those large log dollys from sherril tree. But this looks even better. very nice .
  10. lookong for footplates, double pads or large velcro pads and titanium climbers.
  11. Looking for buckingham titaniums with double pads. or somewhere i can order them from in uk?
  12. nic vids. those big pieces in second vid landed perfect. big tree , close to house in 2 days. nice job!
  13. its ok to do that when they get older but been told as puos the best thing to do for punishement is to ignore them.
  14. tell me about it! jus over 8 weeks now and testing me. feels like he is the one trying to train me. lol
  15. Tao, My 8 week year old huskamute. ( cross siberian husky / alaskan malamute ) kettlebell training.
  16. start at 7.30am usually done putting all tools away by 7pm and thats an ok day. looking at the stats..says most folk so far do 6 hrs work . lol
  17. ladder training is also good. pick up a wieght for lets say pressing. ( i use kettlebells ). the weight should by 50% of your max out weight for around 2 reps. so if you can press 40 k dumbell twice ..use a 20k now holding the dumbell in press position press it 1,2,3,4,5 = total 15reps ( rest for a second between reps. do this for 5 sets . so a total of 75reps. they key is that this training does not burn you out unlike the usual crap 3x10 everyone does. I have worked up to pressing the 28k kettlebell for 100 reps each arms. you can apply this to chinups and other exercises. a mix of this and ther 5x5 program is enough to turn you into a beast. another tip - only do 3 large exercises when you go to the gym..and don't train everyday unless you are doing cardio in days between. gym sessions should be no more than 90 mins.
  18. small claims court is good if you really want to get your money . If it ws 180 i would write a letter asking for payment within 7 days or you are going to use his driveway as a dump - give him a photocopy of how much you pay to dispose of woodchips etc .e.g £30 a load = 6 loads.
  19. i don't wear gloves climbing. find i get better grip with just bare hands. Don't wear them on ground either as they get slippy when wet and i reckon they are more likely to cause an accident
  20. that was awesome. nice one!
  21. Yeah the guy working the ropes is new to it. tryed to show him how to let it run but it takes time how to learn it right as its all about timing etc. I ended up just telling him to put 2 wraps on as i was worried he wouldn't have control and break something. Batteries ran out just before i knocked a 20ft head out onto the pulley..got shooken about then. lol
  22. unfortunatly about 60% has been disced and the rest is in 5ft lengths. onyl means to get it onto trck is manpower
  23. yeah was fun job. done 7 of 8 so far and got the big one to do tomorrow with phone wires, garage, lamps, house and expensive shed directly under neath...not so fun!
