  1. exactly. all you can do is give your best professional adice to the costumers and explain why it s not good to prune tree badly. if they still want it done and are willing to pay for it then so be it. the industry is competitive enough..to hell with turning down jobs.
  2. ha thats weird! was thinking today i'll put a post onm arbtalk tonight about all these eucs i see dying. yip plenty dying in glasgow. all going brown .
  3. Yeah the seperation is because my logo is tree only and i want it to stand out from the rest. Don't think costumers really care about silly spelling mistakes etc...as long as its bright and clear.
  4. you should have seen my last van. Ha True pikey machine
  5. picked this up about 2 months ago and recently got it sign written.
  6. Hi Deni. I have sold the mower. Sorry mate

  7. yeah if you want to do big trees daily then go to australia / new zealand or states. Climbing trees in uk is a walk i the park compared to what you will do out there.
  8. Nice skillfull felling as always Tim.
  9. ha ha, don't cut me down stanley. lol. 950 to prune couple shrubs! what a nobber
  10. come on ladies. No need to get so personal. Fun - spending all free time on arbtalk.
  11. agree with skyhuck. Only others can judge you climbing ability. You might think you are fast / safe / methodical..while the climber on ground is wondering what the hell you are doing this and that for. You may think you are slow..but just lack confidence etc another silly arb talk thread. oh dear!
  12. doesn,t matter what you eat if you don't squat till you drop you won't get really strong.
  13. to be honest. i don;t think the way i was taught how to rescue climber is very fast. If a climber needed rescued from tree then he must be in real bad condition. i would through my spikes and flip line up that tree asap. then use a lowering rope around big branch and get groundies to lower him down safely beside me. every situation is different so you need to be prepared though. setting line up tree might be good idea...but i may be faster to spike up.
  14. cool. put on a bit of weight recently so would help me get up the tree/

  17. just finished milling up lovely oak into 6 ft length squared. i am wanting to make a couple coffee tables ( rustic ) but haven't done any furniture making before. any tips or does anyone know of good books?
  18. yeah cool. not for myself..its for a beginner who is working for me ( he will buy ) so cheaper the better.
  19. don't mean to get off toppic.
  20. The regulations are in place for a reason. whats happening to arbtalk? this supposed to be a professional arborist forum which seperates the cowboys from the pros no!? Well to be safe using a top handle chainsaw is using it with 2 hands as much as you can ( there are times where it is actually safer to use one hand but not very often ) i know many people that have injuries from using the chainsaw with one hand, they now had scars on face, tears up the arm and they were lucky..now they use 2 hands! anyone reading this who is learning please use 2 hands on top handle saw when you can.
  21. Yeah i know. but what i was trying point out is that there is beginner tree surgeons that use arbtalk and its not very good saying its ok to do this after you have been climbing for 20 years + I don't doubt your skills are experience as i am sure you will do more big removals that i could ever dream of...but bad habits do kill and its only a matter of time before an accident happens if you take short cuts often. Great pics though
  22. great pics. wow for sure. esp waterfall pic. 1 thing though that did not agree with was the one hand chainsaw use. you sure will stop cutting like that after you cut your arm off.
  23. no way of setting up speedline? sounds like a nightmare
  24. BC&E do personal insurance for pretty cheap.
