  1. A long time since I have been called young man. :big grin: Ill take that as a compliment, as I was born in 1974. You must be very old mate.
  2. He is good mate, like looking at pictures of horses but each to their own... The 2 up thing definitely helped keep the bill for the crane down.
  3. Cheers. Josh, it certainly make it easier just to lie down and then drag the timber away with the Avant. There were a couple of near misses with the crane op and cables but nothing popped thankfully.
  4. Yes I am mate. Managed to knock up a vid of the work last night. It is in the video forum if your interested. Cheers.
  5. Great video mate. Bet that was a buzz!
  6. Removal of two declining Lombardy Poplars in Oslo. We removed both trees with the assistance of a 55t crane. Quite a bit of deadwood to contend with but both trees done by 12.30. 2 climbers in the tree, one to set the chains and one to cut. It worked really well, no real hiccups and efficient, which is nice when the crane is by the hour. 7. Jay, I see Jamie now and again at Keddles. He take his daughters to the same Thai boxing class as my boy goes to. I have been coming and going from Oslo for the last 18 months. Out here for 3 weeks this time. I actually did a job with Martin in October for a horrid dead beech tree covered in ivy. The wire did have a nudge but it is power for the street lights. The whole bloody place is strung with them. I had one a metre of the tree I was craning out.
  8. Alright Jay, the job was in the centre of Oslo for the Kommune (council)
  9. Today we took out 2 declining Lombardy Pops with a crane. Nice day and just final blowdown by 12.30.
  10. Pretty much what Dan said.
  11. Gentlemen of a certain sexuality have been dressing like this in parts of Central London for years.
  12. Great job mate. Not something you see every day.
  13. I have not climbed a lot on kern, but the short climb I had on it felt a lot more bouncy than the CB.
  14. A couple of pictures of my setup. Hitch cord is a stitched e2e from stein, 70cm. It works a treat on cougar blue. Pictures are from a light pruning job last week. Rich
  15. Sorry couldn't reply sooner, just got out of nick! Cant believe the lengths the tree police will go to. They sent the international division to the yard in Oslo...
  16. Just tip roped Ian and cranked up to the max with a Hobbs.
  17. Swinging an Oak tree limb over shrubs and stuff! No Rockstar in use. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z7pGMw3jp4&list=UUDxq_mj90Xl1_Jnwij0bzkA]Oak tree dismantling - YouTube[/ame]
  18. To quote an American comedian on his trip to an English butchers... "Where I come from you can't even say the word 'faggot' let alone buy a box of them!"
  19. Eating a spoonful of marmite is enough to turn anyone away from it. Try toasting some nice bread, spread with butter and then a thin layer of marmite. Now your talking. As they slogan goes, you will either love it or hate it!
  20. I used to drive an RB44 kitted out as an arb vehicle. I can't say it was the most enjoyable thing to drive around the areas I work. Heavy, clunky, slow, terrible turning circle and to top it off every time I changed into 2nd or 4th I ended up punching the dash board. And I will add just cos it is a 4x4 doesn't mean it will go anywhere. The one I used would get stuck on a damp footy pitch. That was usually to do with the tyres the guy had on there though.
  21. I've had 3 pair of Airstreams and get 2 years at least out of a pair. The current pair are only used for spike work as I have a really nice pair of AKU's for pruning works. I am thinking of giving these a try next, heard good things about them... https://honeybros.com/Item/Cervino_Wood_Chainsaw_Boots
  22. I was given some to trial when it came out. Horrible stuff, can't say I really enjoyed climbing on it.
  23. Jay, You still working for Jamie?
  24. Great stuff David. It's good that your busy, long may it continue. Looking forward to trying the rings out.
  25. Probably because his boss quoted for it and he was the climber who had the job that day. Is there any other reason these days?
