Cheers Paul, The silky is the largest Sugoi. The 150t is exhaust modded and cuts great. The rope was Cougar Blue. The tune was 'Dogs got a Bone' by the Beta Band... I thought it appropriate for the pace of the vid and the fact it features the bone. haha.

I am not a full convert to SRT yet Jay. Something's I cannot get my head around climbing on it. Definitely it has its place though and is uses less energy getting up trees. Helps if you can use a throw line though. As with all things it is knowing when to use it or stick to what is known. The bulldog bone is great. For a mechanical device it is very hitch like IME. Seems good and consistent in the wet. That was the first real climb on it in The dry. I can see it getting used more than my rope wrench from now on.

It is pretty easy but I had cold hands in the morning so it was a bit of a fumble.

I think i paid just under 200 quid inc delivery. 285$ If I recall.

Thanks for the comments. Darrin, the work was minimal and only some crossing branches were removed due to budget. I didn't remove the one you caught in the frame and mostly we removed hangars and the deadwood. David, you are correct all work was on safety grounds. There is a shoot on the site plus public footpath so the main concerns were above those areas. The removal of dead wood plus the finishing cut is probably more an aesthetic thing. One thing in favor of creatures you mentioned was we did leave quite a few stubbs if they had already lost branches, rather than cleaning them up.

Jesse did a vid a while back of pruning some oak trees recently in Germany. It was mentioned in that thread that I had an avenue of Beech trees to deadwood and various other bits and bobs. It was a dry day and sunny so the go pro came out. Not actually a lot of work to do in the tree compared to some of the others, mainly treecare, deadwood and removal of some hangars. It was also the first day I have climbed on the Compact bulldog bone with a clean rope. It isn't the usual crash bash type clip, more of a relaxed pace showing pruning. Some might find it boring but it makes a change and you can't please everyone. The whole climb time was 21 minutes for starting to film to hitting the deck, but I managed to capture some of the bone in action. The bulldog bone gets better with every climb, or that could be me just getting more used to it. Anyway, on with the clip, set to HD and hope you enjoy. [ame] [/ame]

I burnt out some Sirius hitch cord in one climb on a VT and ropeguide. Even cheap cord last longer never IME.

I think I may have been mentioning that for about a year The less stretch the better for SRT.

No it doesn't! Bummer really as I have rings and tenex to splice a cambium saver style rigging sling but it won't fit. I guess it would for a 12 mm rope.

My spliced eye on my 16mm polydine fits through the beast rings.

Basically mate, yes. A bit more than 15 quid though. The beast rings are very large and can handle 19mm rope easily. Just for reference the yellow tenex on the woopie I made is 19mm. All in all though the cost is far less than a 19mm impact block and deadeye to connect it with.

Jay. I got quite a few from treekit. Reasonably priced and he does the Tenex aswell to make the slings. I made a 4.5 metre whoopie with the beast rings.

I did an Oak a number of years ago for Mark Bolam. Noone wanted the Oak and it was pretty brown. It went for firewood in the end...

My mate was from HK. He went to visit his bro in Tokyo, grabbed a load of the stickers and saved that one specially for me. I had it stuck to my petal for w while but it wasn't a good connection.
