  1. I know but I hate the geckos and would have to buy the KK spike and they are bloody expensive.
  2. Pantin and spikes for me... Only coz I have Bashlins and they don't do them... Boo-hoo!
  3. Thanks mate. I clamped the camera using this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00F19Q2R0/ref=pd_aw_sim_ph_29?refRID=14RRSB41FD9JZR1Q8GXP]GoPro Jaws Flexible Clamp Mount:Amazon.co.uk:Camera & Photo@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61diYRnyiLL.@@AMEPARAM@@61diYRnyiLL[/ame]
  4. Adam, cheers mate, that is the first time I have given the Beast rings a proper work out. Cheers Mr Moose, I hear your brother passed the other day.
  5. careful you don't breath out on the forward stroke... they snap!
  6. The rope was held at the bottom by Kong himself. He is a bit of a unit, a bit hairy, dare I say it, Gorilla like? Not sure where he got the idea for the company name though...
  7. No i have the gate on the caritool still. I just twist it against the gate whilst lifting to open it. Edit: that how I do it, Adam has chimed in about his setup.
  8. Thanks Tim. Re the rings, I hear you on that point, we had no choice but to snatch the pieces as opposed to letting them run. The pieces were well within the limits of the equipment used, plus it wasn't my rope...
  9. The insurance policy was the wall had to be demolished, so it wouldn't have been the end of the world. I just didn't want to start the process that day, leave it to the builders.
  10. Cheers mate, had to repreZent the SE London massive some how didn't I?
  11. It is a little accessory bin clipped into the ring on the saw. I do the same on mine and my 200t's except i use an old knackered bina.
  12. We removed a Lime tree in South East London this Monday just gone. The tree was behind residential and commercial properties. It was being removed as it was grown through the wall and the wall had to be demolished for a new dining area in the restaurant. There was an asbestos roofed extension directly below the tree and lots of kebab type counters and catering equipment. Decided it was best to Speed line the tree away from the targets and make life easier for the ground staff. Conventional rigging would have been a painful process until we got to the trunk. When the tree got too close to the wall for rigging I just sliced it and dropped the rings. The stump is being stump gound once the wall is out. Thanks and hope you enjoy. Switch setting to HD and see if you spot the rats running about on the floor. [ame] [/ame]
  13. Good video Adam. Must admit though, in more ways than one the crotch cam made me feel a bit sick...
  14. Yeah I have. I was just coming down on a natural crotch. The crotch obviously adds friction and it is not quite enough to engage the bone so it creeps a bit. It does stop though if you push the top arm up. A bit like engaging the wr1 on a soft tether.
  15. Just been looking a some footage I shot on Monday. Trying to put a vid together but it shows ascending the rope and the tether points and Swing dudes chesty harness. Hopefully I will get it sorted and uploaded tomorrow.
  16. Tachyon is a great rope. I have 4 hanks of it. But I just find it a tad bouncy for SRT work.
  17. If your is one of the newer bones it should have the ring on the top arm. Mine didn't but if you zoom in on the pic you should just about make it out. I drilled in the same place as Gordon has the ring. Edit, pic is a bit hard to see but it is clearer on the vid in this thread. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/video-forum/83953-beech-tree-pruning-vid.html
  18. My bdb came without a tether point on the top arm. I drilled a hole in both sides of the top arm. Threaded some of the tree motion accessory elastic from the inside and tied a double overhand knot like the TM bridge. I then girth hitched a loop from one of the missus handbags and clip into that. I attach the tether to a chest harness and hhaas to the same point. I'll try and ring a pic in a minute.
  19. Believe me I have both and I will stick with my recommendation. Tachyon is a lovely rope but just too bouncy for SRT IMO. That is because they haven't climbed on CB I was recommending it to you for ages. Now you have finally got some wouldn't you agree?
  20. I was actually just pulling the pinto top tie down whilst climbing on the bone. I was changing anchor point so I could speed line the rear stem towards the rest of the crap. Video to come.
  21. Yes it does work perfectly. Unlike Bolam, I improvised and against all recommendations, it works well for trees also.
  22. I really like Cougar blue. Never used a spider jack though so can't comment. The rope is very low stretch so great for SRT. I have a bone and it runs great with the 5/8" bollard. The standard one Gordon ships it with. Used to climb on the wrench a fair bit before I got the bone and the rope works great with that combo. It is pretty good with a VT and rope guide aswell. Where in Norway are you working mate?
  23. What is the battery life like on the 4 silver Reg? Does the LCD screen zap the life out of it?
  24. I deleted it and it keeps coming back again
  25. Yes or a basal tie. The choice is yours. You might need to be a bit more careful to ensure the connection knots do not have to go through a tight fork. It has always worked when I have tried it.
