  1. I deleted it and it keeps coming back again
  2. Yes or a basal tie. The choice is yours. You might need to be a bit more careful to ensure the connection knots do not have to go through a tight fork. It has always worked when I have tried it.
  3. or just tie another rope to the climb line and then your away to finish the job and retrieve as per usual.
  4. Go pro software is really easy. I think you may struggle with iMovie if you had a job on with GOpro. Either one of them take a bit of tinkering to get used to.
  5. I know of tree firms who have had the investigations into this. 3 trucks of 3 man teams all "permanently Self Employed to the same firm". The tax bill alone for one year would be enough to send under let alone investigations into how long the relationship between the guys and the company had been going on. My missus was also in this situation. The company she had worked for for 7 years (rolling three month contract) 6-8 dancers and the HMRC investigated them. The company were required to pay the outstanding NI contributions for all the staff over the 7 year period.
  6. What he said ^^!
  7. I think you all need to kiss and make up and get yourselves to Sunday Service. The day of rest isn't for arguing over a combi can. (Mind, the other days aren't worth arguing over a combo can either) SKyland has them in stock and is selling them, as far as I can see, if you want one buy it. If you don't want one then don't buy it. It isn't exactly rocket salad is it?
  8. Rupe I use the free Gopro software. Download is available on their website. Do you have a Mac? iMovie is usually free from Apple.
  9. Try the glc2000 mate. The pro mma fighters at my gym swear by it. It is the strongest best and only supplement with the 4 Glucosamine compounds that can be absorbed. Google it... I feel better after a week of pills and exercises.
  10. Did you take any supplement to aid your recovery Geoff? I have just started taking GLC2000 last week. 1 week in and my shoulder feels a lot better, been keeping up with the rehab exercises and hopefully get it fully recovered. I recon I have been on 70-90% recovered for the last 2 years. It still aches after a hard day of certain types of climbing... i.e. Cut and chuck.
  11. What do you climb on? What length are you after? IMO Imori is too bouncy. It feels good in hand but is hell to dry once it is wet. I did 2 weeks of storm work in the snow on Imori a couple of weeks before xmas. The rope was still wet 2 weeks later when I went back to work and it had been hung, daisy chained in my shed. I like Tachyon as an all rounder rope. But my preferred rope is Cougar Blue.
  12. Alright mate. Could do, I have offered swingdude a lift though. He is moving from the Caribbean at the beginning of April. I suppose it depends if he is settled enough after the move. Didn't realise Dan was going. If not Paul, you and myself could drive be up in mine.
  13. Quite enjoyed it. The missus probably didn't like, but that could have been to the amount of Bristol Cities on show.
  14. Vikings is an amazing show, as said, really looking forward to season 3. I have just finished Marco Polo on Netflix. Based on Marco Polo's journals (with a bit of directors integrity I think!) and his time in the court of Kublai Khan. Better call Saul was a good start to the new series, we will see how it pans out, so far so good.
  15. ill be there. same arrangement as last year Mark?
  16. Great vid. Very good climbing, rigging and nicely edited. Really enjoyed that. Cheers for posting. Who was the climber?
  17. I would say 100 is too low mate. You know your area though and if that is what you think you are worth then fair enough. Not knowing what the market is like up there it is hard to suggest a figure but at least 140 a day. More if you can get it.
  18. Why not contact your CC company. Say they company is extracting the Michael and do they offer cover for such scams?
  19. What do you charge mate? It may already be in the thread and I have missed it. Apologies if that is the case.
  20. That would be considered burning the arse out of the industry down this way. I get your point about loading up with men and kit to get the job done quicker. Around here 2/300 per man, per day is good going. Some charge more for commercial work, or at least the top end of that scale. Your figure for 5 guys plus kit of 900 per day equates to 180 per man, per day. 6 guys plus kit on site is 150 per man/per day. Hence my comment in the first paragraph. I don't know your cost but the kit you list has to be paid for / has already been paid for, from somewhere.
  21. Enjoyed that mate. Let's see some more.
  22. I know the difference between reference between wood and sand/pebbles. Pity the iPhone tries to guess what you mean rather than just allowing you to type!
  23. Dismantled a knackered beach today. A lot of Ivy and quite few limb on the back and over the field. Popped up on the bdb and creamed off the rear limbs so gravity could assist us as I did t know the integrity of the hinge. In hindsight it was the right thing to do. The tree pretty much shattered when it landed and the Ivy was covering a lot of mess. Glad I took the back bits off. Rich
  24. Good work Paul. Some lovely kit there.
  25. Is that because tree cutters look like they need a break and the offer of a new credit card is just what the doctor ordered?
