  1. If your is one of the newer bones it should have the ring on the top arm. Mine didn't but if you zoom in on the pic you should just about make it out. I drilled in the same place as Gordon has the ring. Edit, pic is a bit hard to see but it is clearer on the vid in this thread. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/video-forum/83953-beech-tree-pruning-vid.html
  2. My bdb came without a tether point on the top arm. I drilled a hole in both sides of the top arm. Threaded some of the tree motion accessory elastic from the inside and tied a double overhand knot like the TM bridge. I then girth hitched a loop from one of the missus handbags and clip into that. I attach the tether to a chest harness and hhaas to the same point. I'll try and ring a pic in a minute.
  3. Believe me I have both and I will stick with my recommendation. Tachyon is a lovely rope but just too bouncy for SRT IMO. That is because they haven't climbed on CB I was recommending it to you for ages. Now you have finally got some wouldn't you agree?
  4. I was actually just pulling the pinto top tie down whilst climbing on the bone. I was changing anchor point so I could speed line the rear stem towards the rest of the crap. Video to come.
  5. Yes it does work perfectly. Unlike Bolam, I improvised and against all recommendations, it works well for trees also.
  6. I really like Cougar blue. Never used a spider jack though so can't comment. The rope is very low stretch so great for SRT. I have a bone and it runs great with the 5/8" bollard. The standard one Gordon ships it with. Used to climb on the wrench a fair bit before I got the bone and the rope works great with that combo. It is pretty good with a VT and rope guide aswell. Where in Norway are you working mate?
  7. What is the battery life like on the 4 silver Reg? Does the LCD screen zap the life out of it?
  8. I deleted it and it keeps coming back again
  9. Yes or a basal tie. The choice is yours. You might need to be a bit more careful to ensure the connection knots do not have to go through a tight fork. It has always worked when I have tried it.
  10. or just tie another rope to the climb line and then your away to finish the job and retrieve as per usual.
  11. Go pro software is really easy. I think you may struggle with iMovie if you had a job on with GOpro. Either one of them take a bit of tinkering to get used to.
  12. I know of tree firms who have had the investigations into this. 3 trucks of 3 man teams all "permanently Self Employed to the same firm". The tax bill alone for one year would be enough to send under let alone investigations into how long the relationship between the guys and the company had been going on. My missus was also in this situation. The company she had worked for for 7 years (rolling three month contract) 6-8 dancers and the HMRC investigated them. The company were required to pay the outstanding NI contributions for all the staff over the 7 year period.
  13. What he said ^^!
  14. I think you all need to kiss and make up and get yourselves to Sunday Service. The day of rest isn't for arguing over a combi can. (Mind, the other days aren't worth arguing over a combo can either) SKyland has them in stock and is selling them, as far as I can see, if you want one buy it. If you don't want one then don't buy it. It isn't exactly rocket salad is it?
  15. Rupe I use the free Gopro software. Download is available on their website. Do you have a Mac? iMovie is usually free from Apple.
  16. Try the glc2000 mate. The pro mma fighters at my gym swear by it. It is the strongest best and only supplement with the 4 Glucosamine compounds that can be absorbed. Google it... I feel better after a week of pills and exercises.
  17. Did you take any supplement to aid your recovery Geoff? I have just started taking GLC2000 last week. 1 week in and my shoulder feels a lot better, been keeping up with the rehab exercises and hopefully get it fully recovered. I recon I have been on 70-90% recovered for the last 2 years. It still aches after a hard day of certain types of climbing... i.e. Cut and chuck.
  18. What do you climb on? What length are you after? IMO Imori is too bouncy. It feels good in hand but is hell to dry once it is wet. I did 2 weeks of storm work in the snow on Imori a couple of weeks before xmas. The rope was still wet 2 weeks later when I went back to work and it had been hung, daisy chained in my shed. I like Tachyon as an all rounder rope. But my preferred rope is Cougar Blue.
  19. Alright mate. Could do, I have offered swingdude a lift though. He is moving from the Caribbean at the beginning of April. I suppose it depends if he is settled enough after the move. Didn't realise Dan was going. If not Paul, you and myself could drive be up in mine.
  20. Quite enjoyed it. The missus probably didn't like, but that could have been to the amount of Bristol Cities on show.
  21. Vikings is an amazing show, as said, really looking forward to season 3. I have just finished Marco Polo on Netflix. Based on Marco Polo's journals (with a bit of directors integrity I think!) and his time in the court of Kublai Khan. Better call Saul was a good start to the new series, we will see how it pans out, so far so good.
  22. ill be there. same arrangement as last year Mark?
  23. Great vid. Very good climbing, rigging and nicely edited. Really enjoyed that. Cheers for posting. Who was the climber?
  24. I would say 100 is too low mate. You know your area though and if that is what you think you are worth then fair enough. Not knowing what the market is like up there it is hard to suggest a figure but at least 140 a day. More if you can get it.
  25. Why not contact your CC company. Say they company is extracting the Michael and do they offer cover for such scams?
