  1. IMO, its important to remember that we are all different, just look at sport, people's capabilities are very different, its important to learn your own capabilities and work within them, its best if you can discover your limits without being cut.
  2. Not sure about the bracelet, I do hope he's not got a sideline in "pharmaceuticals":001_huh:
  3. £25 a ton for softwood and Pop/Willow.

  4. According to H&S guidelines top handled saws are only to be used one handed when at the extremity of the crown, when reaching out at arms reach where its not possible or safe to use both hands and the saw is so far away from you that a kick back would not hit your body, at all other times two hands are to used.
  5. To be honest I'm a big believer in thing called "personal disposability" which seems to be some what out of fashion, mores the pity. Tickets really are not difficult to achieve (expensive yes, difficult no) they are more about arse covering and ability IMHO. The most skilled cutters I've worked with had no tickets.
  6. What happened Pete??? Hit by tree or truck?????????
  7. I can't really see that sticking. Do car sales men ask to see your drivers license?????
  8. You need to be known to the dealer and they need to have gone through the hand over procedure with you, but no "quals" are needed, except for top handles.
  9. They clearly knew exactly what they were doing, very difficult job carried out outstandingly !!!!
  10. You reckon????????????:confused1:
  11. Utter nonsence Better to replace with:- Wood thats wet and full of sap, I think you'll find won't burn, its crap!! Get your wood nice and dry, it then burns great, with flames so high!!

    Strong bridge

You would think they could just drop the road by a foot, then most of those would fit.
  13. Personally I would not want to work for people who I felt I need T&C to stop them shafting me.
  14. The whole site has gone white and weird here Steve???
  15. We had weeks of frost two winters ago mate, your memory is shocking
  16. The last three winters have been much colder than the previous 30 mate, last years was not as cold as the previous 2, but still colder than most of the previous ones. If the recall it was the two winters of 10/11 and 9/10 that killed all the Euc's, many of which had grown happily for 30 years. I do agree that the cold winters are great for reducing numbers of pests and disease.
  17. Schiesling are one of the very best, IME.
  18. You do not need to do refresher training, as far as I'm aware its only recommended. If you employ people its probably a good idea to have them do some form of refresher training to cover your back. You may find that some clients ask about the dates on your tickets, I had a council that questioned my tickets, as I took mine in 1996, I pointed out that if they wanted a novice with limited experience I was not the man for them. They saw my point and I won the contract.
  19. In these straightened times it not a good idea to walk away from work, some people are less reliable, not necessarily because they are bad people, just disorganised or a bit lazy. The thing to do is work out who need "nursing" a bit and who are dead reliable. The less reliable ones need a call the night before and maybe ask a few questions about whats happening if its "a bit wet", "chucking down", "windy", etc. Also try to have a plan B for the days when your hoping to be working for the less reliable ones. But as we don't know why your day was cancelled all the above be be of no use.
