  1. This is true, but high calorie intake is unhealthy even if you don't gain weight. Our modern high calorie/high protein diet turns our cells onto "replacement mode", replication of cells is what leads to cancer (bit like photocopying a photocopy, the quality reduces each time), by fasting (only twice per week) you can switch your cells onto "repair mode" this is much healthier.
  2. There was a program about Andy, it was posted a while back, its fascinating. It has far more benefits than just weight loss. The whole thing started after it was realised that during the 30's when the great depression was on and people in the states were living on starvation rations life expectancy actually increased by 6 year. Research has shown that just fasting (dropping calorie intact to under 600 for the day, in the form of one meal) can give you the health benefit of proper fasting.
  3. Oh dear:( I hate it when people call their cert's a "licence", but know even the providers are going to use this ridiculous term.
  4. That must have been ace!!!! I'm very jealous!!!
  5. Err excuse me, you really do have a bee in your bonnet don't you:thumbdown: Please tell me were I have ever posted what I think is a living wage I have only ever said that the only people who can determine a persons wage is them, why accept a rate and then bitch about it????? Please get your facts straight in future.
  6. I have not found this the case, I eat pretty much what I want through the week, but only eat evening meals on the weekend, I've lost well over a stone and feel great
  7. You are absolutely correct However in reality very few people would £120 for that job, its a job they could do themselves or get a gardener to do. I get asked to quote lots of jobs like that, generally while doing other tree works on the same road, I get very few of them because I'm too dear, but if there is time in the day I may quote £80 if we do it there and then, even at that I only win a few. TBH I don't think large Co's well do many if any jobs that size.
  8. I see your point, but we do need some controls on these things, lets say you move into a nice quiet cul-de-sac, nice quiet neighbours who have also moved there for the quiet life. Then one of the neighbours moves and the new neighbours starts running a garage from the property, various cars in different stages of repair littering the drive and others awaiting repair cluttering the road and the banging and clattering associated with car repair, or they start retailing some iteam or other and have people comeing to buy at all hours. IMO there do need to be controls and its very difficult to know where the line needs to be drawn, its better to set a reasonably tight definition of residential to prevent people from ruining other people home lives.
  9. I have to say I agree, I am immensely grateful to those who fought to preserve our freedom and liberate our neighbours, but how is what we are doing now in other land that different from the very thing we were fighting against in the two great wars????
  10. Yes, but it is extremely difficult to deliver the KWH's that are in wood in anything like the efficiency of gas, so a great deal of the energy from wood is lost/wasted, so you need to buy a great deal more.
  11. But these guys generally go set up on their own, can't really blame them we did the same As you say if you want more money make yourself some one your boss comes to rely on and would not want to loose and would find very hard to replace. If you ask for more money, but he could just let you go and find a replacement with easy, why should/would he pay more???
  12. Do you never book online Paul?? We always do, I like the back row top of the isle, lots of leg room and no one kicking the back of my seat
  13. I have an overdraft, but I'm not in it. I cover all our bill just fine thanks.
  14. No do both, bacon butty, followed by chocolate cake
  15. TBH, if my mrs earned £30K I could retire Could certainly afford to pay staff more, thats for sure.
  16. No its me, the mrs is busy baking
  17. I have some powerful binoculars and can see the sea from my house
  18. Chill out man It was a tongue in cheek comment
