  1. That pretty good for Horse Chestnut (which it appears to be)
  2. The 66 has not changed for many, many years, hence the old screw caps.
  3. Here is a link to his case, there no mention of his insurance being invalid, where did you get that information from????? Illegal DIY job burns Loughborough man
  4. IME this is not the case, I have been in motor accident and never been asked for licence or MOT. The things you mention are "legal" requirements, for all cars on the road, I'm not sure you can argue that "LOLER" is quite the same. I think for your insurance to get out of a claim the accident would need to be a direct result of equipment failure and that equipment not having been LOLER'd, plus LOLER being a requirement of your insurer, also I think any third party claim would be paid, as is the case with drink drivers. We hear a grate deal about insures dodging claims, but no one ever posts any links to actual cases of this happening
  5. Does any one know of any accidents caused by kit failure???
  6. That is very different to what Rupe has done here, Rupe has simply lined an existing flue, the guy to mention was installing a new flue, not the same at all. If insurers don't pay out because of the lack of paper work what happens about all the stoves that were fitted before the HETAS stuff came in??? PS, do you have a link to the case you have mentioned??
  7. Chances are we would have got Ash die back even without imported trees, we are only 20 odd miles from france, so it probably blew in, plus there are trucks and cars coming over on the train or ferry with mud on their tyres etc. You mentioned Australia, but they are very different from us, they are miles from other countries and are very tight on imports, muddy boots are not allowed, etc.
  8. But we all knew this information from the news, there is no private or personal information that was not common knowledge.
  9. You really think that constitutes "health records"????????:confused1:
  10. What medical information?? I've not heard it and I can't find it on the web.
  11. I'm truly amazed by the attitude of many of you, I now understand why the Daily Mail sells so many copies. These DJ's did not want confidential medical details about Kate, that was not what this was about, the only reason that information was obtained by them was because of the incompetence of the hospital. The DJ's were trying to be funny, OK maybe it was a childish, ill thought out joke, but it was a joke. I heard the recording on the news and the impersonation of the Queen was ridiculous, how if fooled any one is quite beyond me , I personally found the whole thing very amusing (obviously before the tragedy)
  12. Totally agree, plus IMO that was not even funny.
  13. Not really comparable, this was a "joke" it was "funny" (it made me laugh) this was not done to hurt any one, the out come is tragic, but that was not the intention.
  14. Come on if you go down that road you would do nothing. I imagen the DJ's fully expected not to be believed, I think they thought that they would simply be broadcasting them having their cover blown by the hospital staff, you no the sort of thing "I am the Queen, how dare you suggest I'm not!!" "sorry mam, but we your not using the proper channels for contact" "I can put you in the tower you know!!" etc, etc, You get the idea. I'm sure they were totally gob smacked when they got put through
  15. WOW!!! I go off for an hour and it all kicks off, I think its pretty poor that the poor nurse is being spoken about so harshly, we have no idea why she felt the need to take her own life. I really did not want this thread to be about suicide, and WW comments are in very poor taste IMO. The point I was getting at is that if this tragic death had not happened, the police would not be flying to Oz to speak to these DJ's. I first heard about the prank on the news, it really made me laugh, for days before there had been all these ernest reports outside the hospital, with there serious faces talking about the situation (particularly Nicolas Witchel, he really gets up my nose) The contrast of that Ozzy lass impersonating the Queen really tickled me. They on friday when I heard that the nurse was dead and there were "no suspicious circumstances" but no stated cause of death, which is pretty much police code for suicide, I was gutted, such a tragedy. But to blame the pranksters for her death, IMO, is just ridiculous.
  16. Well the hospital said she was not disciplined in anyway, surly if she had made such a huge breach of protocol some action would have been taken.
  17. She only took the call and passed it on to another nurse who then gave an update of Kate's condition. As I stated in my OP, the NHS require passwords to confirm they a speaking to a genuine relative. The fact that a private hospital does not have such protocols in place, especially when dealing with such VIP's is bonkers, but that not down to staff, is a management problem.
  18. Lived with what????? She did nothing wrong, she followed the hospitals protocols, if any one is at fault its those who set the protocols.
  19. 89 is a hell of an innings, not really a sad thing at that age, not only did he have lots of years in his life, he had lots of life in his year. I raise a glass to a life well lived, heres to Sir Patric Moore!!
