  1. Why can't you take it with you?? Would the buyer not want it?? you could sell them wood
  2. Tending a woodburner in the house is a lot of work and mess, we had indoor wood burners for the first 5 or so years of married life, but it was messy and a lot of work, plus the house was alway cold in the morning. An outdoor wood boiler gives you all the convenience of gas central heating without the cost. I no longer have to split logs, no mess in the house and the radiators are too hot too touch, even first thing in the morning.
  3. Compost?? You could stock pile and then get a large shedder in for the day.
  4. No gas here, our Aga uses about £900 of anthracite per year, only for cooking and heating the kitchen and adjacent room. Emerson heater for hot water in summer. Out door boiler for heating and hot water in winter, house is 30c+ all winter. Electric bill is around £1200 per year, but that with two 50" tv's and 6 of us in the house with most of the lights on most of the time.
  5. Do you have a link to the legislation that states this????
  6. I really don't see why you can cut smaller using a MEWP:confused1: I almost never lower and cut and chuck virtually every tree I climb. I am certainly not suggesting anyone should be "risking it". Personally I hate MEWP's, I disagree that they are safer, but thats just my opinion.
  7. Grow up!! "" indicate thats only someones else's opinion, the very fact that I did climb them shows the other person was incorrect.
  8. Surely if it needs lowering you need a crane not a MEWP. I would suggest getting a more experienced climber, not less.
  9. How can you say that without seeing the tree?? Different people work differently, the other guy may feel a knows how to do the tree safely. I've climbed plenty of trees that others have claimed were "unclimbable".
  10. Not sure burning MDF is a good idea, you could get into bother for selling it for that purpose.
  11. True, the self-employed tend to be of a generous nature, its good to share
  12. 24hours for the self-employed (no work no pay) 96hours for public sector workers (no work full pay)
  13. How would that help???? If anything it would encourage more into the industry which would simply drive down prices further.
  14. Too many cutters, not enough wood.
  15. But I thought silky uses an iPhone, so thats all he needs.
  16. Thats what the banks thought about PPI
  17. Have been a member in the past, but not now. I see AAAC as nearer to a "franchise" than an accreditation scheme, I do not want to be told how to run my business.
  18. Arbtalk and the AA could not be more different, there is no comparison. Arbtalk is about sharing information, its about the hundreds of different ways of doing things. The AA is about telling people what they must do and how they must do it.
  19. Whats the problem:confused1: Nick has made it very clear he sells by volume, i.e. a "full load", a full load of green timber would be 26T or more, but seasoned is much, much lighter, but it worth far more. No truck could carry a 26T of "seasoned" timber. Chill out
  20. Not sure thats true Rupe, as I understand it fat people actually have faster metabolisms than thin people, its just that they metabolise their calories to body fat, not energy or mussel. There was a program about this on the radio that investigated the age old claim by the fat that they "have a slow metabolism", but they actually found the reverse to be true.
  21. There was no change other than the numbers, Stihl will only remodel the saw once all the castings with screw threads have been used.
