  3. the fact remains that the HSE requires recorded competencies, and yet still continues not to require a 'certificate of competence' from a recognised issuing board or body. competencies therefore could be recognised 'tickets', in house training, or observed competency by a 'more senior' or highly trained person. I think they are merely requiring that competency to be recorded and vouched for?
  4. Avon 'skin so soft' is about the best insect repellent going full stop!
  5. but is it necessarily though? a tracked mewp like a teupen 'SPIDER lift' such as the Leo model to which tony refers is a static use mewp. It is only self propelled to get it positioned and cannot be lifted without legs down lifting the tracks off the ground and rendering it to all intents and purposes 'static' in contrast, the long tele boom counterbalance-looking mewps with four wheels, that can move with the boom up/out, is definitely something different and what i would say comes under self propelled
  6. theyve all gone brown/grey in the leaves and looking pretty sorry for themselves round here too, including the one in my back garden at my new house. Unfortunately i think it's for the chop anyway considering what the previous owners have done to it!
  7. i was reading that the head getting left in, is not necessarily a problem, and is much like a tiny splinter, but that it is the contents of the stomach and two glands behind the front legs that contain the pathogen which are the real danger, both of which are usually secreted around 24hrs after attachment. If that's true, it would certainly seem that the order of the day is to remove asap in one way or another
  8. I trust youve removed it?
  9. one word... how? some 'characters of lower than average intelligence' at work managed to feed a tyre iron into the farmi 260. im told, sparks et al out the chute, but they reversed the rollers and never thought to check for damage, just wondered why chipping efficiency was next to nought! turns out blades were about 45% missing!
  10. does nobody look at the date anymore? this topic's 3 years old

  18. yup, ya plonker 'land rover td5 wheels' not defender td5 wheels. doesnt say defender in the listing as best i can tell. 235 not 265 as well im fairly sure they're disco 2 fitment if not disco 2 wheels in the first place hope that helps ya get em sold
  19. Why wont they fit? Do you have any photos? not gonna be a lot of chance selling them if we dont know what they actually DO fit
  20. How about you use a split charger the likes of which you would use for a second winch battery, and connect via Anderson connector. Keeps battery on the trailer in case you need to use a different vehicle, and you don't need to worry about the current. Clever ones allow you to tie the two batteries together at the push of a button allowing you to use the Anderson socket as a jump point, in either direction.
  21. Knew I'd forgotten something! Discharge went white and thick, now almost foamy. With the saw chips looks not unlike porridge
  22. if you're paying to tip it, id see what your local registered and permitted green waste site charges.

    roboflail

Depends very very much on the type of grass, the finish and how often. We have one at work. Not convinced for our use. Vertical flail was the line... Try rotary with swing back blades. Just tends to strip anything woody and leave it standing. The other problem for me is the tracks sit outside the deck unlike conventional flail deck units from other manufacturers. This means it's forever running down uncut grass. Less a problem on very short grass but not ideal on longer grass at all Most deck parts are skag I believe... And the price.... Think this one was 27-29k
