Wasn't actually from Garth, was just not so far away from his gaff so he came out to see it and gave it the nod of approval. It's only right, he's been trying to get me to buy one long enough!

Only a 6inch Stevie but my word it's the biggest 6 inch chipper I've seen. Real wide infeed too, not quite as wide as dean's newer one but nearly.

  5. think orange plant do/did have a teupen leo 15gt had it on a job when i worked for treeworld in leeds
  6. horizontal for billets, vertical for rings. two different questions entirely imo
  7. yeah defender bonnets from retford near me too. EA landrover lost one. they can force the rubber sleeved out of the hooks with little problem
  8. No harm done, all i was pertaining to, is at some point (when adam was a lad), there must have developed a divide between tree fellers and those who specialised in working on trees 'differently' perhaps specialising in managing and harvesting pollard materials. Eventually mans seeming need to exert dominance over nature developed further to working on trees for aesthetic reasons, but my train of thought goes, that it would be these pollard workers who were more likely to take up that 'contract'? which would mean that modern arb may have pollarding to thank in part for its genesis? It's a theory anyway
  9. Read it again. You know not my ideals!
  10. all very clever til someone has an accident they can attribute to said mud, then you're screwed
  11. but playing devils advocate here, in the aforementioned 'pointless extra work' there are the two words 'extra work'. the origins of an industry perhaps
  12. If i were going to be pedantic, ive a feeling it's far from new. I believe it's a re-imagining of an original Clark engineering product from some time back. They say they dont make things like they did anymore, but I guess there are the happy exceptions
  13. That's fantastic! I want a koi and that's perhaps the single best b&g koi I've ever seen
  14. must say, im more of a rock & blues/ download/ sonisphere guy myself
  15. Thats a 'green man' isnt it? or is there a more specific term?
  16. end of the day, put an 18inch log on there of any length, and if it hasnt bent or twisted the legs, you try and advance it one handed. The portek is brilliant, ive got one, but it's not designed for processor lengths or top end processor sizes
  17. Absolutely, encourage growth and sustainability in our own forest resources. Timber is one of our very very few renewable resources, and with applications as wide as it has, beats the hell out of synthetics. The old addage of 'if you dont use it you lose it' comes to mind
  18. must be a robert plant fan... think that one was his symbol
  19. ... as we wind on down that road, our shadows taller than our souls, there walks a lady we all know... Led Zeppelin IV
  20. seems the bigger you go, the lower the price gap. £ per inch the small tow behind machines are by far the most expensive second hand, but then the demand is there
  21. Good plan! I'll have to film my jobs in time lapse. might look comparable to a Bullman job in real time then
  22. looks like the training house from batman begins. amazing place!
