  1. where did that come from? I cant find a parts list for the 560xpg and i really want that.
  2. I'd be wanting £50+vat roadside.
  3. I was going to start how are your sugi bars holding up thread but maybe later. I got these for the start of Jan so it's done a month and a half of work. Turned each day dressed each week if needed. I can't find the orginal husky 13" which wasn't worn out but I'd say 40% of its life after a month. As for chain i like semi chisel which chainsaw bars sell in 3/8 pitch which is rare. When i wear out my current 3/8 chains i shall get some.
  4. I've got 2 13" bar from sugi one on 346 one on 550. I normally find with the Husky ones there is no writing left on the bar at the end of day one. They're down to the metal buy the end of the week. Due to the high chain speed on the husky i find the rails were quickly and the nose sprokets tend to splay. My Sugi bars after a week cutting large larch about as big as you can do with a 13" bar are still ok. After a month some paint has worn off but they still look good. I've also found the rails to be rock hard and wear much slower than the husky ones. I also like the replaceable nose sprokets. I'd buy more that for sure. Yes they're expensive but i feel the quality speaks for its self.
  5. PPE Chainsaw trousers Chainsaw boots Climbing hat if you want to go that way or a ground hat if not. Good pair of gloves First aid kit (one for the truck too.) Chainsaw A mid size chainsaw eg550/560 or 261/362 STIHL or oregon chainsaw fuel can as they are transparent Some STIHL HP super 2 stroke oil Felling kit Felling bar preferably a long one 5.5" plastic wedge 15m logging tape+spare tape refill for the truck Timber tongs Axe/hammer Bigger wedges Tools Digital calipers round files flat files file guide combi spanner allan keys bar grove cleaner good vice marker pen small srew driver airline for the workshop. Spares Break band spark plug Guide bar chains It's a lot of kit but mot of it you need. You'll get a better idea on the course though.
  6. Yes they are. Currently had mine for a 2 months. It looks a hell of a lot better than a husky bar of that age. In really doesn't burr up that badly either. As for chains i use Oregon ones
  7. The EA use plasma rope in their winches. Having dragged 90m of 13mm wire rope across a forest i can see the advantage.
  8. They do a full wrap handle for the 365. I know because i just looked it up and its £130 odd quid. Also outside dogs so you can really west coast it up I also saw they heated full wrap handle for the 576 as well as outside dogs they do a extended height air filter for that full west cost feel. I may get it just because i can.
  9. 660 576 xpg 357xpg
  10. As said Clarks have many in stock. Also the suppliers of the winch can get them too. Had a couple of cables from AT Osbornes for a Fransgard winch. Always worth a call to local lifting equipment companies who deal in chains and things as they often have something suitable. Also you need to know how strong your winch is to get the right size cable. I have a 10mm in the 6.5 tonne winch and 13mm in the 9.5 tonne one.
  11. That is crazy money.
  12. Ah yes the forwarding misc. I've never checked but i've always assumed its front end loaders and logging blades. So you have some 1.x 3.8 and some 4s then? Would make sense once you skid it to push it around with a loader. I have a 6.12 which is stump treatment just a random number that came with my harvester tickets.
  13. Anything starting with 1 is a base unit. 1.1 tracked slewing 1.2 tracked rigid 1.3 Wheeled Rigid 1.4 4/6 wheel articualed 1.5 8 wheel articulated I think 2 is harvesting Anything with a 3 is forwarding 3.1 Purpose built cab 3.2 purpose built bunk 3.3 Purpose built other 3.4 agri based cab 3.5 argi based bunk 3.6 agri based other there is at least one more but not sure what they are. I think 4 is winching/skidding 5 might be skyling 6 is is establishment stuff.
  14. Sell everything by the m3 here. You can do it off the stack that way and off the forwarder too. Everybody knows what there getting too.
  15. Standing price (m3)+Cutter cost (m3)+ Extraction Cost (m3) + profit = Roadside price in m3. Obviously the standing price can be a bit mis leading as a 1m3 tree will have some much more valuable stuff in that firewood/chip so you need work out preportion of logs/pallet/strainers/chip/pulp etc. So if you got the stand for free and you cut 12m3 a day and your cutter cost you 150 quid thats £12.50 pr m3 to cut it. Forwarding say cost £5 a m3 then you want to make a tenner a m3 that is £27.50m3 per m3 roadside. The other thing is if people are taking wood themselves on volume basis. Make sure your both happy with the stack volume. If you think it's 20m3 on your landing and it's 15m3 in their yard then there is a lot of negotiating to do. If you have several people buying stack it separately if you have the space.
  16. Still windy here. Nothing compared to last night though the wind and rain was mental. It doesn't take a lot to make bins fly down the road. It does however take a lot to rip my mountain top off my truck.
  17. Wilson's make one but it's expensive. If your handy at welding you could make your own up.
  18. Mine made a noise like the tail gate falling open and the logs coming out on the A414 the other day. Then it sounded like a bit of trim flapping around underneath for the rest of the journey home. garage cant find anything wrong. Any ideas? New diff seals this week too.
  19. Only used Windsor harvester chain. IT was ok with the power of the motor on a harvester chain quality doesn't matter. I use Oregon chain for all my saws. 21 bpx for the smaller ones and now i've found out that chainsaw bars do 3/8 semi chisel i'll be getting some for bigger saws.
  20. No worries mate.
  21. Hopefully now?
  22. Couple from last week. Pulling this forward leaner back over it's self and into the wood.
  23. How does the 560 perform on a 18"?
  24. Currently two lads are using the MF 390 2wd with a Fransgard 6.5 tonne winch on the back. Skidding 5m chestnut poles. Once they started using the independent breaks they LOVE the set up.
  25. They burn OK. Other than that not used them for anything else. I'm sure carvers will want it for so they can have some southern beech bowls.
