  1. Look forward to it. Got to love the folding butt plate, i must admit to rarely using it for its indented purpose. Uniforest are actually Solvinian a lot of the winches on the market are from that part of the world.
  2. Cut 4.8 someone might want it. Maybe post something in the milling forum. I've done Beech in the past and again it all went for firewood. Sometimes if you have a spalted stick someone might want that one.
  3. Must be at least 150' that Redwood. I think it was 40' to the first branch i got too:lol:
  4. Nice low stumps i like this. That a folding butt plate on the uniforest winch. Nice tidy looking Valmet too.
  5. Does it not just have a trailer light connector on the end of it? If it is only taking positive and negative you can change the end and plug it into one of the electrical sockets in the cab. Although I'm still not totally sure what this lead does. I almost want to find out as much as you.
  6. Is it PTO powered or off a spools?
  7. Apparently its electrical on/off switch. I'm guessing plugged in and turned on you can disable the crane.
  8. What make and model of crane is it.
  9. I take it the middle two controls are for the legs. The other two will be slew and boom and rotator and main boom. You have an extension in out and open close grapple to go somewhere. These can either go on little buttons on the top of the joystick that is controlled by the electrics. Or they're mechanical which means the joysticks sort of twist. If its the latter i can only figure the electrics could be to change the speed up or down, or power lights.
  10. Does it allow you to use extension and grapple on buttons on top of the the joysticks?
  11. Go on auto trader select choose what you want, how much you want to pay and how far your willing to go and you'll have an list. Its what i did twice.
  12. Does it taste like it too.
  13. You could hire in some track way to put down a temporary road service.
  14. Love it. A word we used a lot in the forests.
  15. LED don't need changing so you can weld up some substantial surrounds and weld mesh covers that bolt onto the trailer chassis.
  16. I'd of thought you'd be best off lowering the sections out. I think it was in Scotland where the FC felled a load of Douglas Fir on some archeology. They tied the at the top and then they went through some blocks and pullys and i'm guessing some porta wraps to slowly lower the whole tree to the ground very slowly. It was in either Forestry Journal or the FCA mag it was a few years ago now though.
  17. Another vote for LED lights. You do have to wire in a resistor or there isn't enough draw on the light circuit to make the trailer lights show up as working in the cab. I think these were the ones i got. 18. Been moving lots of stuff on Low Loaders recently. A few of the Romanian drivers English wasn't great but it didn't need to be as they did it all them selves. Asked what tractor needed to go and then it was done. Had some fantastic English guys too but it was all tainted by one guy yesterday. Mr i need 115ft of straight level ground to unload or its not getting done. Not at all helpful.
  19. Thanks Matt I'll give him a bell.
  20. Hi Looking for a mobile Ag Engineer in Bedfordshire. Need some tractors looking at. Cheers Andy
  21. Do you mean Larches like European Larch, Hybrid Larch, Japanese Larch etc.... If you do then there is Loads of it around Dumbfries and Galloway forest district. Lot being felled due to Phytophthora ramorum. Either way if you want some Euroforest would be your best bet.
  22. yes he could. Although if he is confident on the safety/legislation side he could just take the NPTC tests.
  23. Get the Colins Tree Guide and turn it upside down?
  24. I'm not cool or coordinated for such things. Maybe i should take it off?
  25. Two bags on cement on the roof it is.
