  1. Do IPAF as its the most recognised. I looked into hiring a big tracked MEWP but they would only accept IPAF didn't want to know about NPTC.
  2. Thinning or clear fell?
  3. Very true. Hoewever i do too many miles for a Landy and i know somebody who has two and something is always broken or breaking on one of those. I'll be looking at a Hilux next.
  4. Yes i do. Got mine at 50k 55k needed the front propshaft UJs doing. 70k it needed doing again and gear box seals 80k 4wd sensors packed up and gear box seals again 90k 4wd sensors gone again 100k wheel bearing 110k new turbo. Not to mention the constant brakes that it seems to eat through. No other vehicle i've had has gone through front brakes like this. Had my old Navara 5 years and i think the brakes were done once! Its been looked after too. 95% of its life is on the motorway and A roads the rest on estate tracks. So its never really off roaded or loaded up with more than a few chainsaws. Serviced once a year too. Whats worse is the thing is a very comfortable drive and it's all laid out very well inside. Doesn't do too bad on fuel either. More grumbles from an angry navara owner. I hope you get yours fixed with no issues.
  5. D40 fuel filter nissan part £70. Can find ones similar for about 8 quid. Think my replacement was about 35 quid.
  6. The lesson for today is as soon as a vehicle give you trouble ditch it. Yet again this money pit of a Navara is costing me a fortune.
  7. Ouch I doubt i'd be able to drive something 8'long and 5' wide around the roads near me. I'd get wedged between all the poor parking.
  8. 4 tonne at a guess would be bottom end. You'd be better with a 6 cylinder tractor so you have a longer chassis to counter the leaverage of the crane.
  9. How much does a F350 weigh? Must be much space for cargo on a standard cat B licence?
  10. Mine wont get looked at till Friday as the garage is busy. If it is the turbo then i may take you up on your kind offer.
  11. One broken Navara with nothing wrong with it is enough for me thank you. I'd look at the fuel filter though. They use this weird piped up canister one that seems to block up easily.
  12. Mine would get like this almost in a limp mode or just stall for no reason. Didn't throw up any faults on the computer either Fuel filter change and a good flush through with good quality injector cleaner. Premium diesel for a tank or two. Good oil that will work with the DPF if you have one. Simple things but seems to work very very well. Mine is currently in the garage with a strange noise that i think is the turbo dying. After 3 months of trying to find a replacement the bloody thing has broken again.....Bloody Navaras getting another one though.....
  13. Unimog chipper and a mower? Best of both worlds?
  14. Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
  15. Do you have somewhere to store it and all the extras such as trailer chipper etc and somewhere to put a diesel tank for it. Tractors are expensive and there is no one size fits all for them. If your arb based being a climber would a 360 with a grapple be a better bit of kit. Mowing work such as paddock maintenance often has more travel time than mowing time.
  16. Yes make sure you do that......or else they turn up with a fire engine or two.
  17. If you have a front end loader push it all up into a heap and burn it. If you don't you can row it up with the butt plate of the winch but be careful not to take a big scalp out out of the ride. You could mulch it with a mulcher but that has a cost. Best way is to try and fell everything into the block, not always possible i know. Brash on the rides is best kept in big bits then moved or you make a lot of mess. Move it to where you want to windrow pile or burn it then cut it up.
  18. Neptune 5 here. Had issues with it but oh boy will it cut through a layer of baked on oil and mud. Goes up to 120 degrees.
  19. Looking good. You running double drum haul in/out.
  20. Are the cloud berry out yet? I use to love eating them best bit about MT sites...
  21. Spend the extra 80 quid and get an xpg, your hands will thank you in the future. My vote is for the 550. I have 2
  22. It's nice but only one tractor has furrow presses. Do all 3 or not at all.
  23. Charlie that is an amazing bit of kit its a baby big boy skidder. I'm very jealous.
  24. Yes it is, look at Trima and quickie for after market loaders. Just need a sub frame and brackets that will fit the Deutz.
