  1. The next one up from Hytran which Case use in their newer kit is designed for a 600 hour change interval. Can't remember what is was called but it was about £60 for 20L
  2. That is a tidy 399. On the subject of light guarding i use margard. You can pick up off cuts of thick stuff on ebay fairly cheap. Fix it in your steel frame and it does a brilliant job of being strong and see through.
  3. Clutch is either worn/glazed or the spring isn't pushing the cable drum far enough.
  4. ValtraTrans. Super UTO would do the job but i'd go for Valtra Trans. It has all the additives your valtra will love but your wallet wont. You need something a little thicker than pure hydraulic for the transmission side and with good heat transfer properties for the wet brakes.
  5. When i worked over there, some days there would be 3 or 4 valmets in the pub car park about to go snow ploughing. All having a quick dinner before a long shift of clearing roads.
  6. Welding mask. I've started to use my auto darkening one for grinding. Sparks fly and it darkens down. It's all rather good actually.
  7. For around 30k you could get a nice Valtra A series new with a loader.
  8. If your thinking of buying it goes for a lot. I've tried to get several coups in Broxbourne/Wormley Woods but they go for silly money as a play areas. Its a shame because they lovely woods but now lack a joined up management approach. There is some nice conifer in there too. That's if it hasn't all gone through Webb's stroke processor by now. I'd of thought 10-12k an acre wouldn't be far wrong but round London small woods go for silly money. A few acres in St. Albans went for nearly 50k
  9. What's your email Murray. I use to have it I'm sure but i cant find it. Charlie - you should have a big email with it all in.
  10. You probably already have them Charlie but i have the Forest research thing on High lead. A Norwegan book on highlead/skyline and the worksafe BC skyline stuff. I can ping them over to you on email if you don't and you'd like them.
  11. I was shown this the other week. Its a real eye opener and i think the real worrying thing is that a person would go through the chipper easier than the manikin.
  12. A very well tuned build SISU common rail with a very big turbo. Had the A series which was 95hp on a 3 cylinder and it was flawless just a bit too cramped. I dont think i ever got the front end off the deck though.
  13. Is that the world largest toolbox on the front of the roof mount? Does it need that much ballast out there?
  14. Before someone else posts this.... [ame] [/ame] This sums it up nicely.
  15. Wilsons has a few s/h winches at the moment Igland 4201 a Igland 55 and a Uniforest 8.5. All manual winches.
  16. Krpan 9 tonne or an 8.5 if you want an easy life. Get the folding butt plate with hydraulic cable spooling. as well as a full radio kit. Yes it will be expensive but the only winch you will ever need. My advice would be spend the money now on getting a Electro hydraulic winch over a manual as it will make your life so much easier. Radio option will be another thousand or so but will save that over its life in efficiency. Krpan also do double drum options and single drums with cableway reels on them.
  17. Sad day when its cheaper to fill with white than red.
  18. Even better there is one on Arbtrader. Tractor hydraulic winch fit any tractor do not need front linkage ArbTrader Arborists Classifieds
  19. You want one of these. EV300 Hydraulic Winch | Products | Tractor Mounted Winches - Farmiwinch.com
  20. It will. Much like the SIP one it will run on a 13amp socket but only at 160amps. For the full 180 amps you need a 16amp supply.
  21. Ar+C02 is good. I must admit i forgot they did a mix. Its very good bit cleaner than pure co2 but not as smart as full argon. If your only doing ferrous metals then the Ar+C02 will be super, if you want to do anything more exotic then you'll need Ar. You can get fluxed wire now but i've not got the hang of it yet. Splatters all over the shop.
  22. SIP Autoplus 181DP Dual Purpose MIG Welder - SIP04791 | SIP UK I have that one. I've found it very good for the money. The Rtech stuff looks very good, I'm tempted by their plasma cutters. I'd use argon rather than CO2. I use to use W size bottles but it broke the wheels on the 181 so i now use a Y bottle. If your not going to use a lot buy a bottle and get it refilled as a BOC rental is expensive.
  23. First set yes, subsequent ones i doubt it. Local garage did it.
  24. My first one was much better.
  25. I had a D40 Navara on a 07 plate. I was the second owner previous owner was a lease company. Got it a 50k and ran it to 110k. It was a lovely drive and i generally liked using it. Downside was the number of things that went wrong with it. It ate front brake discs like they were going out of fashion. The front propshaft UJ went both ends. Then they went again, but changed them to greasable ones and then they were ok. Transfer box seals went twice with water ingress into the box. Turbo went at about 100,000ish Fuel rail and injection pump was on its way out. Had this weird fault nobody could discover what caused it to stall and stall again when you started it in the rain sometimes. Oh the heater got worse and worse - think the fan bearing was going as well. Alternator bearing went. Maybe a leak from the rocker covers but could have been the turbo throwing oil. 4wd sensors went two or three times. Despite my bad experience i looked at getting another one as i like them. Because they were the UK best selling pick up 4 or 5 years in a row you hear a lot of bad things about them just on numbers out there. I got a duffer no doubt about it but i know people who have had one problem free. Few people with a new clutch.
