  1. thank fully i have never had one try to rip me out of the tree. But has always been one of my concerns especially as i prefer 10-11mm rope when using a bigger saw rather than the bungee lanyard that would give if required.
  2. cheers for putting the link and pic up. did pic from taptalk and did not seem to work. Pete as usual I bought 2 so one is for you to have a go:thumbup:
  3. Got this from skyland Never seen them before but do far I do think they are good and for bigger saws up tree I like the fact that if it did get caught in the kerf this would give and not the 10mm rope I generally use for a tool strop

    Brackets

if metal the fittings from handrails from most fencing suppliers or scaffolding if using scaff I would imagine wood so would Suggest either similar of normal coach bolts ect fixings or get a man with a welder. post a pic of wood or metal intended and will sort something out as i also know several guys that install swings and playground kit.
  5. had mine done again 2 weeks ago last friday 2 tears and a cyst NO driving for 2 weeks:blushing: I walked out of hospital with no crutches in the afternoon No Painkillers since but did need to take it easy and tbh was better than before after a few days apart from stairs and rough ground. I can generally walk round better now than before but still a bit wary of stairs and certainly rough ground. I will not be dragging brash or climbing for about 2 weeks tbh as it does stiffen if I do too much and i want it to be right so no more issues. If you wish to discuss pm your number and will ring you. good luck:thumbup: p.s from going to docs-consultant- mri-consltant to opperation 3 weeks:thumbup:
  6. if it,s the holdall i did not like it. just proportions really hope that helps now you have 1
  7. most arb retailers sell em or your local safety centre. Most councils you have to apply to put lights out. Again really you ought to do the NRSWA course to put them out.
  8. Fantastic Thank You

    Show time.

I am hoping to talk the wifey into a road trip as never been but heard good reports form others that have made the effort to trail down from up north.
  10. I would like a nice butt:thumbup: pm me for suitability:blushing:
  11. Anyone else had a go These are my first Fountain pen Roller ball Pencil
  12. personally i would not use starter cord use 6mm as less risk of it getting trapped in a port but i tend to use a screwdriver and turn clutch till compression is stiffer and give a nice quick whack and can usually run em off with nowt down the pot as always concerned re loosening a bit of carbon. I generally wizz mine of with airgun either with the proper clutch tool or a socket i have adapted to fit in but thats if you can be bothered or have a few the same. as said it,s left handed so opposite to normal:thumbup:
  13. generally it,s the complete service. I.e avaiability speed and reliability cost (total) certainly influences i try to avoid paying postage even if it means adding extra gear. But the fact that the company sells what i want at that time. I would not buy 1 product from 1 company and 1 product from another ect. Admittedly i will wait a while to fill an order from you and the next will probably be from another supplier but that will because you do not sell some of those bits. although would it be better to have a loyalty thing on postage ie after i have spent £..... then free postage in a 12 month rolling period but certainly think free over £... rather than those that do spend £5 getting it posted free with the product been dearer hope that makes sense.
  14. I know what you mean re the arms but still looks spot on. I do wish i had the time and the vision to tackle something like that. Do you start at the head and work down or rough the whole thing out and keep nibbling away?
  15. go to 3.33 best bit by far
  16. not seen that additive before but must be good for the occasional users. I wonder if it similar to lead additive
  17. big problem nowadays that the internet has driven prices down so most stuff is already at low prices so often show specials are just not available as all the exhibitors have to fund the costs of the stand and all the travel ect.
  18. looking at the picture they have certainly cut back beyond the boundary. No legal right to do that They have done work not within the interests of the tree. Again no legal right Obvious trespass to carry out the work and photo proof Again no legal right. They should of offered the branches back if not then it is again No legal right The clematis that grew into a court case - Telegraph War over clematis costs woman 250 - Telegraph I would hope they had actually asked the tree owners Homeowner in court for pruning clematis | Mail Online could not find the case i was looking for but there is a couple that certainly were smaller. I would honestly look towards a few hrs research and a discussion with the local tree officer as to there thoughts as to any action desired both to the tree and the neighbours.

    husky 540xp

get a 201 at least you know they are available. surprised husky have been this vague after it was supposed to be released 2 yrs ago. If they can,t sort it by now either it will be disastrous or very good I would put money on the 202 been out before the 540:blushing:
  20. mbs is 7.5 ton ish so safe working load 750kg ish some will disagree but generally 10-1 7-1 for strops if you have 16mm rope generally 19mm for split tail to fasten pulley. If you are using 16mm rope i would advise a cast pulley and a split tail to fasten to tree as a swing cheek will not take any realistic abuse or shock loading
  21. they are ok no issues
  22. No you can not use screw gates. they are generally now just used in rock climbing and for tree work 3 action autolocking are all you should really be using. most arb suppliers will still sell the odd screwgate but they will all sell more 3 action. choice is usually dependant on use and user. just take a punt really. I would suggest oval ones for that use.
  23. don't bother with hygiene kit just buy new muffs they are not much more and they will keep the pressure on and protect your ears. I am always surprised when i work with other crews at the state of their muffs that have gone hard or split or just weak on the clamping bit. Go On treat your ears it does make sense. Pardon is not a word you always want to be saying:confused1: P.s my wife always complains about my helmet smelling:blushing:
  24. the headbands on petzle are replaceable as well only a couple of squid
  25. nope but they were way of to the side. which again highlights the need for discussion on where the groundies should stand in case either the rope fails or the anchor or just a simple mistake. Always plan for the worst
