  1. I had one of those days.... I rebuilt a Rover V8 for my hot rod, tried a test fire this evening and the (expensive) high pressure oil pump has gone tight...... My mobile has been stuck on 2G thanks to an update which has led to loads of grief with supplier (long saga since september).... JVC flat screen has just stopped working too! Another glass of wine and I shall retire early to bed......
  2. Follow the cable from the red bar to the valve block. The lever on top to the valve block should move through the three positions with the red bar. Take the cable off of the lever and then move it, it should positively locate in 3 places as the spool moves into each correct position. If it doesn't, the remove the cap and lever and check to see if the internal portion of the lever is present and located properly in the recess on the spool valve. Try that. If you No Stress has been over ridden, we can go through a few simple steps over the phone to find out why and see if it can be fixed cheaply and easily. The chopper worked so much better with it properly working.
  3. Hey Matt, I'll get the RAL code and post it later. It is powder coat, not enamel and I think it is called glebe green. When you say the rollers are stuck in the "feed in postition", could you elaborate please? Is the red bar moving but not the control cable or kever on the valve? Is the overide engagdd so it will pull in at any engine speed?
  4. Dean, not too sure on the "Forst" comment. While they are a worthy competitor, they aren't in the same class as either TW or GreenMech. The main design criteria of the TW150 and 240, GreenMech QuadChip and the 150/130 range is to be under 750kgs. The Forst isnt....... if you buy a Forst, it is in the knowledge that it cannot be towed by everyone and it hasnt a turntable. The OP is new to Arbtalk with 4 posts in all, welcome him to the community.
  5. Bearings need 2-3 pumps per week each nipple. Strapping it down depends on the trailer and whether you have her N/S or E/W.
  6. I got a wheeled strimmer, an old DR strimmer with a 6hp, 4 stroke for old folk in Devon with a big garden and small paddock and an old 4hp x 2 smoke for the wenches place! Bugger that carrying about malarkey!
  7. I "ebay dream" about car stuff on a worldwide basis - just to see what is available and at what cost! I've yet to buy anything substantial in size but I did get a request for tax from some stuff sent from the states. Good luck with your purchase, could you not get it locally?
  8. Get them sent out by your local GreenMech dealer. Welcome to the family!
  9. Seen on a slurry tanker "We take care of the last link in the food chain!"
  10. Trick piece of kit! Looks awfully useful..... Does it move much? Where abouts is it based and what kind of rent is it?
  11. To be fair - a guy at phones 4 U did try hard and a girl from EE was right embarrassed and apologetic that they couldn't switch on this booster box. But what got on my nips was being sold 4G when I don't need it and spending about 3 hours on another phone due to poor signal and someone saying "you should phoned 150 on your handset, that is free!"
  12. I changed phones and in the advice of the man int shop, went from Orange to EE with 4G. Dont use the phone for much bar calls and txt with wifi and a tablet at home, there wss no need to use the phone for much else. After many months of dropped calls and txt messages not sent, the supplier found that the handset was faulty and replaced it. While doing that EE tells me that unless I use the phone to access the internet, I was sold a pup! Signal still no better and a week later of tests and trials, they have to semd a signal booster out. This came with no instructions and that took a further week for them to activate it! I asked the supplier why I had been sold 4G when I dont use it and what the difference in cost is and their response was "I shouldn't worry about the couple of pounds per month and anyway, Orange are shifting their clients onto EE anyway!" Because of this attitude, come renewal time, it will not be EE or Phones 4 U again.
  13. Top response! I like it when a gem of info of this quality turns up! Thankyou good Sir!!!
  14. Not an expert on tthese and wasn't there when it ceased to operate. Fresh fuel after being run out (it did for a bit on the new tank full). I would have thought that the safety switches would have prevented it turning over and I can get a good spark from the HT lead to the manifold and it feels like movement in the solenoid under the bowl too. So a bit confused!
  15. Caz's ride on will not start. It will turn over and produce a spark, but I cannot get it to fire. Fuel appears to reach the carb and the solenoid on the carb appears to click but the beggar will not go! Any clues, it is a 12.5hp Briggs IC engine.
  16. Or you could cover it in glitter, but it would still be a turd.... put your dosh down as a deposit on a new nachine and get what you want with warranty!
  17. What are you after? Sub 750kgs? 6" class or bigger? Tracked, towed or tractor owered?, new or used? How much of a budget do you have? Give us a clue please!
  18. It is a GMR1OO, well spotted. I'd have been tempted to strip the chipper and chuck it in the car (Freelander?), and "lodge" the trailer at a near to property only to return with the spare! so to hear of your ill fortune, good luck with your purchase.

    Jokes???

What is the difference between chickpea and lentils? I certainly wouldn't pay £250 to have a lentil on my face!
  20. We make our blades in batches, under copyright, and any copies are an infringement of that copyright and also go against the patent too. As we have no control of their quality control, we wouldn't recommend them, eitber as a supplier or sharpener! If ought goes wrong and your machine suffers consequential damage - are they going to help put it right? At £39.50 + vat per blade, that would cost Justin around £160. I was paying £330 per set in the 90's for another make! I borrowed a flat blade for a german made machine off of Doug Bennett and that was £140 back in 2003! Our blades are on the shelf and available overnight (generally), and that sought of back up and support may cost! If it ain't on a shelf in Sheffield, they can be half price but no good to anyone!
  21. Nice one Shane! Justin, get originals from your local dealer! They are cheap enough anyhow.....
  22. I think this is such a tradegy! It could be such a useful piece of kit in a few different markets, but no seems to do much with it! Good luck Charlie....
  23. Turners didn't bring in anything that size - I doubt Gandini (or many other European firm) did owt that big! Couldn't help with the other request for info but a call to Graham Satchwell of Chippers International would do no harm. He is an informative sort of gent and been around Gandini since dot. Good luck Tom.
  24. Tidy Job and good advertising! Shame about the old dear though - terribly mis-informed about things, that Lime was never 200 odd years old and I bet the planners would have loved to have left the tree for their own PR!
  25. I ran a couple of twin cylinder Echo saws in the 80's, mid size with 18" bars. A good tool to be honest!
