  1. Got married once......
  2. It is the same casting for the engine block. 14,16,18hp - I did wonder if the 27 was similar too!
  3. Watch Listen Learn Ask Eat Drink Run Share Offer Enjoy!
  4. I live a couple of miles away. If you aint sorted, I could look into getting onto a pallet with a courier from GreenMech if necessary.
  5. My thoughts too Phil.
  6. I used to have one as a GreenMech tow tug! Slightly high geared in 1st and reverse for towing and yes I fried a clutch trying to shift 1800kgs on a boggy surface but other than that, she was good. Comfortable, economical, reliable and generally capable - a good tool! TD4 power did 140k miles in three years just with routine servicing and a battery, twice cleaned and refitted the crankcase breather mind. downside was very dear servicing from the main dealers!
  7. Just theshredder part of the Combi? Sorry no, we did one only and I know where it is and it wasn't near £1k either.... The shredder drum for a CS100 got stuck in development too....
  8. I hate to say it but I don't think you will get much luck trying to get money out of the seller. You should have satisfied yourself that all was good and unless any warranty was mentioned then - you bought it as seen. Terribly sorry....Good Luck for your future, get your head down and graft. It wouldn't have been a CM170 from 1996, we didn't make them then. As a lesson to all buyers of anything, please be careful and cautious with a used tool. Take someone who knows about machinery, get the serial number, talk to the original source and walk away if it smells peculiar. Something else will turn up.
  9. I note your concerns and having come off the tools (many years ago mind) I can sympathise....Your comments do have value and I have put a note through our usual internal channels highlighting the issues that you have had. I will also talk to our lot about RPM and the "No Stress" settings and get and something altered in the box. The buttons are okay for general usage however and I still fail to see why we get blamed when they get knocked off! Sorry....
  10. Look at the high pressure fuel pump - follow the hoses backwards from the injectors. The fuel shut off solenoid should be on the distributor pump - check all the fuses too, it might be on a separate fuse.
  11. Sky line is best done uphill then gravity can act as a brake at the drop zone. Lining downhill can be a bit sparky as the load is less manageable and gravity makes it quicker! Can you access through the rear (she said:sneaky2:)
  12. Take the wire off of the top of the fuel solenoid and try again!
  13. "Not that you're one to blow your own trumpet..." Only when the tune is a bloody good one! Stand by the product that you are selling is one phrase from the book of Honesty, Loyalty and Integrity!
  14. Kev's machine came from GreenMech. Good to hear from you today Kev, as said earlier, please do come to see us at Ciren at the weekend!
  15. Network Rail brought a number of GreenMech STC1928 with lighting towers, winches and the electrical recovery motor. But then, so have a number of other people also got 1928STC this year too.
  16. The Royal Air Force wanted a close up of a Typhoon in flight so they got a camera crew on the lip of an opened rear door of a C130 (Hercules, aka Fat Albert). The crew asked if he could get closer - "How close do you want me?" was the response....
  17. Fair comment Karl ref the truck, not a good analogy from me. Do the buttons on other makes get knocked about? We use those buttons as they are easily obtainable and robust enough for general usage with the cover on but they are not made to be rubbed against a wall or tree - but then, neither are those fitted by TW or Jensen. The safety bar is designed and manufactured to specifications set down by the HSE, a set up that all suppliers (should) comply with. They control the safety side of the infeed and enables the operator to safely disable or reverse the rollers. They were not designed to act as a scoop in a ditch or an anchor point for ropes etc. While I understand and appreciate your comments, if they bust - ask yourself who bust it and how and why.
  18. Stuart, the warranty on used machine is down to negotiation at the point of sale. It is an agreement between you and the seller (and manufacturer if there is anything left on the originalplan). I have sold stuff with 30 days, when it has been a fair bit old and stretched out a long one when it is something that we have control over and can easily handle and the odds are that it isn't going to embarrass us!
  19. I love the comments about it being the manufacturers fault when bits get knocked off of a machine through misuse/abuse. The mushrooms are protected by a steel cover from small snags etc, so how are you smacking them off? Do you blame Ford when you knock the Transit door mirrors off on parked cars? Do you blame Toyota when the HiLux slides into that snowy ditch? The red safety bar is a critical component on any woodchipper - so why would you jeopardise your working day by rendering the machine unusable. For the record - I was looking at other makes in a Network Rail yard to see that the knee bar didn't work on one make as it had been bent and on another make, it did not locate the spool in the "Stop" position because it wasn't adjusted properly and neither make complied with the regs as set down by the HSE because they required too much force to use them.
  20. GreenMech have long been at the forefront of a range of British built wood chippers and green waste shredders. Continued expansion has seen the company recently appoint a Technical Support Manager in the form of Spencer Southall, a well-known face within the ground care and arboriculture industry. Spencer has clocked up over 25 years’ experience since starting out as a horticultural engineering apprentice with Midland Shires Farmers. That experience moved on to encompass the management of their Evesham garden machinery workshop and then on to a number of manufacturers including - Etesia, Farm & Garden Machinery, Stihl, Sanli and Countax. Jonathan Turner, GreenMech’s Managing Director, had this to say on the appointment, “Spencer will major on adding strength to our aftersales and technical support departments. His previous roles in Sales, Technical services, Customer support and Warehousing make him the ideal person to help us support our dealer channel and customers at home and abroad.” Spencer was equally as enthusiastic, “I’m very pleased to be joining GreenMech. They are a market leader and their customers expect a level of customer support and back up to match – it will be my job to maintain that.”
  21. Phone me, Phone Big Al, Phone Karl Bak from Orange if you have issues - part if our job is to resolve issues. If you think a tweek on the settings in the control box is required, then phone Mac or Jason and ask.
  22. Global Sales up in Brum have done a load like that - usually machines that have been traded in as the actual labour costs in the strip down and then re-assembly can be a major cost. Why not strip it yourselves and get it blasted/coated locally and re-manufacture it yourselves over a weekend for fits and giggles? Chuck some new bearings, fans and bushes in her and jobsagoodun!
  23. All good questions to ask too. What is your woodchip quality like? What model is it? Is the "No stress" device working as it should? Have you rang GreenMech service and asked Mac or Jason for advice? Whereabouits are you?
  24. Very valid point too Steve.
  25. We put an EC150TMP/Hydro together for Avant. We did one on a Boxer as well. Send me a pm with an email and I'll get some stuff sorted!
