  1. Party!?! More like a tea dance or shuffle.....
  2. Sssh, thing thing best left to the imagination.....wouldn't lend it out!
  3. I'd like to echo both these thoughts. Doug Bennet - Top Man, ditto Liz, Fran, Weaner, Big Stu, Big Al and all the others who worked and helped out over the years in the shop or in the tent at shows. Was reminiscing at the weekend about the kerfuffle at Lockerbie and talking about the little shop/unit up the hill....Very best wishes for the future to you all. Use them or loose them is a good mantra too.
  4. I had one as a GreenMech tow tug. Did about 140k miles in three years and I found it pleasant enough company. Main dealer parts and servicing was ruinous! Had the TD4 BMW unit and would have another too.
  5. A benefit of being in the club, being able to drink several pints of Stella, but with the maturity not to turn into a plonker or wife beater! And as we get up in the night to empty anyhow, more wee doesn't matter!
  6. When Morton said that they don't turn, he meant steer. We looked into this and, on balance, stayed with the leg as it became a brake. Fair play to you for doing something to your CS that you are comfortable with.
  7. We still make the CM220MT55! But like Dan says, the 1928 has a wider feed which gives brashy stuff more room. But the 220 is still a good, solid, robust machine that has survived well!
  8. Is this the photo that led to the front cover of Men, Mud and Machines? Dan, I did sling some photographs up some time ago - I'll try and find them later! Far from complete and now needs a new cab (1 available) too. My son wants me to finish it but I don't have the time or need nowadays.
  9. Try Nigel at N J Trees in Stoke for the low down. He ran one for a while.... I always thought that for smaller stuff like brash etc, they were very effective. Not for big nogs or heavily contaminated stuff, but ideal for what you have by the sounds of it. As quite as the tractor that powers it really. There is a worthy supplier of these things based in Staffordshire, close to Stoke, I'll try to get the details for you.
  10. An MK4X4, complete with rear mounted Atlas crane and mid mounted winch. It is a half finished project- and has been for 20 years! It is probably covered in brambles at my mates place by now. I really must rescue it a park it where it is in constant view, it might progress then. I did offer it as a project a while ago but the only takers were of the joshing urine type!
  11. Give Rosemary or Dan a call at Green plant. Their banner is above.
  12. The Timberwolf, like the GreenMech are designed to fit into the sub 750kg market, Forst isn't. If you need to get a new machine and you are confined to sub 750 then the Forst isn't going to get invited to the party, but GreenMech and Timberwolf will be there! I think that Dave from Landforce is trying to decide if making a 6" machine that weighs more than 750 is a good idea.

    CS100 Hire

Sorry Dan, I don't know of any to hire in that area.
  14. Sound advice Ian!
  15. I still remember the old phone numbers - 4 digit are code and 4 digit number were usual! My mother used to answer the phone "Sambrook 838!" when they lived near Market Drayton and that was in the mid -80's My word, but we have come on apace haven't we.....
  16. Good on you for having a go! One reason why she went to sleep in a field may he that as she no longer complies with HSE regs for chippers and was too costly to have put right. Look into infeed chute length and operation, especially the control bar. Good luck with your project, give us regular updates!
  17. Go and see Eddy George in Long Whatton, he is part of Derek Fitzgerald digger hire, good bloke with a wealth of knowledge and contacts.
  18. To start with, can you tow it legally? That is the main reason for GreenMech and Timberwolf designing and building machines for the sub 750kg class. By the way, what is covered in their 3 year warranty and what do you have to do to qualify for it?
  19. <p>Which model and what is the serial number? You'll probably get a dust cap from your local trailer people. I fitted a cap off of a spraycan once as a temp measure!</p>

  20. Or the GreenMech 150! ;-p
  21. A caveat must surely be, watch out for the charges when returning a vehicle at the term end. They will get you for every scratch and dent, worn tyre, mucky seat and worn carpet! Extra mileage costs can mean that for the last 3 months, it is left in the yard if you are going to go over!
  22. How old are "sprogs"? I'm only just in the club and can find people in the 30's and 40's bloody stupid! They seem to think that because I didn't do well at school, never went to college or Uni and did treework for 18 years that I know cock all and they feel the need to do things their way! Then they find out out that my way was indeed right, that know what I'm talking about and I said what I said because it needed saying and not because I wanted to knock them down, create work or craved their attention! As for teenagers with their civil rights etc......don't get me started Ex wife's? Now there is another thing.... Politicians? Hurrumph!
  23. I would look at the downward pressure and the cutting mechanism. Check the quality of your woodchips, if it is struggling to chip and/or producing shreds, then the infeed will be affected. Check that the springs that pull the top roller down are still effective and that the top roller can rise and fall smoothly.
  24. <p>Ill be prepared to bring one or two out under no obligation for you to have an honest look at....07774 282481.</p>

  25. <p>Does your boss want to try a GreenMech, Platts at Darley Dale are your nearest dealer. Keith Millington is the rep to talk to there....</p>
