  1. You cannot compare the two. One was designed to be under 750kg with 34hp and a 6x9" gob, the is over a ton with a 7.5" opening and a 35 or 45hp engine! Nothing in common to compare to be honest. One has flat blades and the other has the epic round blades! I'd get a GreenMech any day of the week!
  2. Get the wench out to work! seriously, as said, event sites are ludicrously expensive and hard to staff. Think of training, certification, insurance, business hours etc.... I did once come across a mobile chippy that did rural villages etc and was happy doing thursday evening, friday evening and saturday day in South Notts, East Leicestershire, Rutland and East Lincs. Regular route and steady income! Near to me there is a mobile pizza van with stone lined oven which is wood heated too! Good luck with your enterprise!

    Jokes???

Nice one! I'll remember that for a colleague or two!
  4. Leading manufacturer of wood chippers and green waste shredders, GreenMech Ltd, has announced the appointment of Orange Plant as a regional dealer. Newcastle-upon-Tyne based Orange Plant currently has seven depots around the country engaged in the sale and hire of arboricultural equipment and has grown rapidly since its inception 10 years ago. Both companies see this carefully thought out link-up as a major step in the growth plans each has in place. “Since 2001 we’ve been exclusive to Timberwolf products,” said Joanna Chapman, Orange Plant’s MD, “but whilst we’ll continue to carry their machines in our fleet, and provide service support to machines we’ve sold into the market, we decided to switch to the GreenMech brand. The innovation they’ve brought to the industry will see new markets opening up for us.” Keith Hutchinson, General Manager of Orange Plant agreed, “We spent a year evaluating their product range. What attracted us to GreenMech initially was the level of innovation in their machines, especially the performance and reliability.” Currently Orange Plant not only sells Wood Chipping, Shredding & Stump Grinding machinery but also operates a fleet for the hire market with in excess of 150 wood chippers alone – believed to be the largest fleet in the UK. Signing the agreement on behalf of GreenMech was their Sales Director, Martin Lucas. “This is a significant step for us,” he said, “In Orange Plant we have a company with vast experience in the Arb market that can help us design tomorrows’ machines that will bring additional benefits to Tree Surgeons, Contractors, Groundsman and Local Authorities.” GreenMech, formed in 1993, have long been at the forefront of a range of British built wood chippers, green waste shredders and related arboriculture technologies. The company, known for an after-sales service second to none, takes great care to ensure the specification; performance and price of their designs make for low operating costs. Few manufacturers can boast the background and experience of the GreenMech Team. In recent years this resource has seen the introduction of the revolutionary Disc Blade that can give up to 6 times more blade life and the award winning SAFE-Trak technology that allows access to difficult terrain, like road and railway embankments, with the operator out of the danger zone. For full details of your local GreenMech dealerships, please go to GreenMech | wood chippers and green waste shredders for arboriculture, forestry and groundcare contracting services and find your dealer in the dealer locator or contact Orange Plant on 0845 838 6337 or contact GreenMech Sales on 01789 400044.
  5. Blower! Top tip Mr Blair! Top Tip!!!
  6. I was looking at the sand on the engine mounting plate and wondering what happenef! What was the story? Recent floods?
  7. Welcome to the Wee Chipper Club!
  8. I tried it last year on different species of Apple, and also other trees, like Poplar and birch. Caz and I spent a morning taking cuttings and trying to graft them in. Not one bugger grew! I did think of the bird idea, but dismissed it that time. Maybe it ought to be tried with her Peking chucks?
  9. Listers are fairly bomb proof, only requiring the odd oil change and the occasional blow out kf the finned cylinder bores. The "no stress device has a proximty sensor, box with telltale light and a solenoid! Fairly simple set up in all! Call me on on 07774 282481 and I'll talk you through it?
  10. When you say overhaul, what exactly do you need? How much do you have in the budget? How far do limit your travelling? Which EC150 is it?, Lister, Deutz or Isuzu?
  11. I'd give you my spiel, but........ I got to say it, "I'd buy GreenMech!" Welcome to the forum Will, please take the time to read through all the threads about whose is biggest etc.....
  12. There is a tendency to shy away from B&S engines, thanks to the engines they fitted 40 years ago. But I was impressed last week when I fitted a 5hp lawnmower unit onto a wheeled strimmer and it fired and ran! This thing had sat outside dead for 2 years, previously to that, my folks did their half acre lawn with it for 10 years! I don't think it has had an oil change etc for 5 years! But some new fuel and 6 pumps on the plunger and it fired on the 6th pull. Marvellous when a plan works!
  13. True enough Mr Stevens.....another giveaway on the makers plate is stamped or etched into the CE stamp. Namely, 06, 07 etc is the year of manufacture.

    Entec ch35

    Does it comply?
  15. Laski built machine which used to come in the Major, Patrick Watts brought them in and I've seen the one on fleabay. I remember Mark Lowndes showing one to Horty Week - Mark and I decided that there were plenty of other machines that we would consider.
  16. Check out the used ArbTrak150 units I have for sale as an alternative.
  17. Sorry to hear it Dan, photographs?
  18. Dan, I'll see if I can get an answer tomorrow, it is called Glebe Green as far as I know. You had one rear ended haven't you?
  19. Does anyone still import them? Get a GreenMech!
  20. Here is a picture of Alan and Margaret Oldfield and Chris at Beaver Plant with a couple of their GreenMech 1928 SafeTracs... I've only seen the roadtow version of the 220 Raptor, nuff said.
  21. Rodgers Plant Hire from Honley, Huddersfield reports reports the theft of a year old Arborist 150 stolen fron site in Doncaster earlier this week. The serial number is 13010. Please contact them or myself if you see it.
  22. True, but I think that the importer has rebranded all his products to names of greek goddesses. Nowt to do with the Antipodeans thoughts on the name, GreenMech!
  23. My daughter wss bitten on the face and head many years ago by the in laws dog, a half trained hare coursing Lurcher. I had repeatedly told them that re homing a working dog was not a good idea, my wife (now ex) sided with them at that time and still thinks that getting two more similar dogs wasn't stupid! I don't think that the animal is to blame, sometimes the owner is blameless too. But animals cannot explain themselves and are too close to nature to be trusted 100% of the time. Please take care if you do have animals.
  24. Was it quoted by Mel at Big Chip for the Bandit. If you want a quote for a CS100 in the Aberdeen area, ring big Al at GreenMech.
  25. Walk away from anything that doesn't comply with HSE, is cheap or you cannot get some history on. Another will come along.... Always get the serial number, always get the history, always check it out with someone who has a mechanical bent! I still see machines on auction websites that do not have a correct set of safety bars or infeed chute length!
