  1. I had a chat with Martin Lucas, the GreenMech Sales Director and we have agreed to do some more factory tours in the future - maybe a buffet lunch and some sales patter too, but focusing on the fact that we make stuff and not just bolt it together or import a finished thing. We also do stuff for other groundcare suppliers too and we have the capacity to make other stuff too. We look at the factory as a steel shop with a powder coat /shot blast place too, they make wood chippers now but they could make other stuff if it pays! When i get time and photographs, I'll start a new thread on the subject as many people buy the kit from a dealer but don't fully understand what does go into making one from start to finish!

  5. Thanks for the kind words, I'll get them printed off and posted on the notice board by the time clock. I feel that it is good for the chaps in the factory, like Big Geoff, Dan and Keith to see. It isn't that often that they get to meet and talk to the people who use woodchippers and are interested in how the are manufactured. Thanks again chaps, it was a pleasure.

  7. Google Hoppus feet or metres. I have tables in feet myself being an old buffer!, you'll need a tape to measure girth (1 inch Hoppus is 4 real inches) and you will need to know usable length. These two measurements with the tables will give you volume.
  8. Wbat happened to the original supplier of the machine Johny?
  9. Working for family or friends can be a nightmare, depends on the people. Can they return the favour? I never minded, but then I would never be shy when asking for a lift to the airport or help in a breakdown or a favour to cover previous assistance.
  10. Sorry for your loss. RIP Mucka.
  11. Sorry, more info needed. What engine is it, what type of "no stress device" would help. Too many parameters otherwise....
  12. Harry Stafford is a Shepshed lad, I thought he lived on the same estate as me but I don't know if he has a ride this year. I've not seen the van outside the house nor seen enough races this year to see his name listed. Plus the 125 category has changed. Fantastic racing both in Superbikes and Moto GP. I saw a super slow mo film of Casey coming out of a bend, elbow down, wheel spin and the front off of the floor! Magic!
  13. Who is off to it this year - it is this weekend. I'm sat at home doing machinery reps stuff and can hear them practicing from here!
  14. Rayco make damn good grinders which Westcon import into the UK, good to see Nick Rumsey is still rattling about!), but the chippers never really took off on these shores...I've only ever seen them at shows.
  15. New GreenMech blades? Your GreenMech dealer is the obvious choice. Go to our website and look at the dealer map! I personally would only use genuine blades, on any machine too.
  16. Yes Mr Walker it does.....The brochures are available at the GreenMech website under "products" and listed as Arborist 130, Arborist 150 and ArbTrak 150. We are currently developing a tractor mounted version but that isn't ready just yet.
  17. To answer a few questions. The differences between the Arborist 150 and the QuadChip are little in terms of performance - they both use a common engine and share common parts, they both have a 6x9 inch opening and vertical infeed to cut down on snedding thus reducing the chance of a left leg injury. But the turntable design of the QuadChip and its side by side configuration mean that it isn't quick to fabricate and assemble. To build a turntable machine which is under 750kgs and inherently strong where needed, yet incorporating large fuel tanks and hydraulic tanks does mean that costs do indeed rise. The Arborist 150 incorporates many of the same features and benefits but is an "in-line" machine and through clever fabricating, thought out design and components, we have been able to produce a range of quality, efficient, quiet, usable machinery. The superbly efficient SAfeTrak system has not been used on the Arbor Trak 150 to reduce costs to the end user/buyer. It is still faster across the ground, has better ground clearance, has bigger/longer tracks than other similar chippers but it retains the greater chipping capabilities of the QuadChip. So you guys are on a winner..... They are at Saltex tomorrow and the APF next week....
  18. My girlfriends father will have about 6 acres of useless hay which he wants shot of. Too much ragwort and rubbish for feed so they will be burnt, anyone in that area want them for burning, anyone got a farm boiler and want some free btu's?
  19. GreenMech is pleased to announce the launch of its new Arborist range at this year’s APF 2012 at the Ragley Estate, Alcester, Warwickshire from 13th to 15th September with a showcase at IOG SALTEX at Windsor Racecourse this Tuesday 4th to Thursday 6th September to whet the appetite. We hope to see you there! GreenMech is using these premier groundscare and forestry events as a launch pad for an exciting new series of chippers that has been designed in response to recent consumer interest. As many of you know, over the last few years the demand for firewood has meant that contractors are keeping any useable wood for log production and typically look towards chippers as a means to dispose of the waste brash. The new Arborist range is a family of two road-tows and one tracked chipper unit that has been specifically manufactured to tackle this task. They are reassuringly built with our usual high engineering standard including the renowned technical innovations exclusive to the GreenMech brand. The simple to use and cost-effective range all comes in a traditional in-line format with a letter box style in-feed throat of 150mm x 230mm that allows heavily forked branches to feed in easily. The vertical hydraulic rollers then efficiently crush the material with minimal lateral movement. Each model has a deep beam high tensile steel chassis construction for strength; a wide in-feed chute that helps reduce the need for brash reduction with chainsaw; a folding tailgate* that allows stowage space for items such as road cones. Once dropped into the working position, the tailgate gives a guide as to the correct maximum height of 600mm from ground level for the in-feed table. The individual models are: The Arborist 130 which will initially be supplied with a 23hp Briggs & Stratton petrol engine with a 20hp Kubota diesel engine available from the first quarter of 2013. This road-tow unit weighs less than 750kg so no licence restrictions for drivers. The Arborist 150 which has a choice of either a 26hp or 34hp Kubota diesel engine. This road-tow unit weighs less than 750kg so no licence restrictions for drivers. The Arbtrak 150 will be supplied with a 34hp Kubota diesel only and has been designed to complement the existing SAFE Trak 16-23 and QuadTrak 160 tracked options. This new family of chippers has been designed to rationalise our existing product offer so please note that they will be replacing the current Arborist 13-23, Arborist 15-23 and Arborist 16-23 road-towed units. We sincerely hope you will be attending one of the two forthcoming shows look forward to seeing you at either SALTEX at Stand DAB13 or the APF show at Stand 120 where you will be able to see first-hand our new range in action. In the meantime should you have any immediate queries please do not hesitate to call GreenMech Sales Director Martin Lucas on 07788 411617 or get in contact with your regional sales representative. *comes with road-tow units only.
