  1. Listers are fairly bomb proof, only requiring the odd oil change and the occasional blow out kf the finned cylinder bores. The "no stress device has a proximty sensor, box with telltale light and a solenoid! Fairly simple set up in all! Call me on on 07774 282481 and I'll talk you through it?
  2. When you say overhaul, what exactly do you need? How much do you have in the budget? How far do limit your travelling? Which EC150 is it?, Lister, Deutz or Isuzu?
  3. I'd give you my spiel, but........ I got to say it, "I'd buy GreenMech!" Welcome to the forum Will, please take the time to read through all the threads about whose is biggest etc.....
  4. There is a tendency to shy away from B&S engines, thanks to the engines they fitted 40 years ago. But I was impressed last week when I fitted a 5hp lawnmower unit onto a wheeled strimmer and it fired and ran! This thing had sat outside dead for 2 years, previously to that, my folks did their half acre lawn with it for 10 years! I don't think it has had an oil change etc for 5 years! But some new fuel and 6 pumps on the plunger and it fired on the 6th pull. Marvellous when a plan works!
  5. True enough Mr Stevens.....another giveaway on the makers plate is stamped or etched into the CE stamp. Namely, 06, 07 etc is the year of manufacture.

    Entec ch35

    Does it comply?
  7. Laski built machine which used to come in the Major, Patrick Watts brought them in and I've seen the one on fleabay. I remember Mark Lowndes showing one to Horty Week - Mark and I decided that there were plenty of other machines that we would consider.
  8. Check out the used ArbTrak150 units I have for sale as an alternative.
  9. Sorry to hear it Dan, photographs?
  10. Dan, I'll see if I can get an answer tomorrow, it is called Glebe Green as far as I know. You had one rear ended haven't you?
  11. Does anyone still import them? Get a GreenMech!
  12. Here is a picture of Alan and Margaret Oldfield and Chris at Beaver Plant with a couple of their GreenMech 1928 SafeTracs... I've only seen the roadtow version of the 220 Raptor, nuff said.
  13. Rodgers Plant Hire from Honley, Huddersfield reports reports the theft of a year old Arborist 150 stolen fron site in Doncaster earlier this week. The serial number is 13010. Please contact them or myself if you see it.
  14. True, but I think that the importer has rebranded all his products to names of greek goddesses. Nowt to do with the Antipodeans thoughts on the name, GreenMech!
  15. My daughter wss bitten on the face and head many years ago by the in laws dog, a half trained hare coursing Lurcher. I had repeatedly told them that re homing a working dog was not a good idea, my wife (now ex) sided with them at that time and still thinks that getting two more similar dogs wasn't stupid! I don't think that the animal is to blame, sometimes the owner is blameless too. But animals cannot explain themselves and are too close to nature to be trusted 100% of the time. Please take care if you do have animals.
  16. Was it quoted by Mel at Big Chip for the Bandit. If you want a quote for a CS100 in the Aberdeen area, ring big Al at GreenMech.
  17. Walk away from anything that doesn't comply with HSE, is cheap or you cannot get some history on. Another will come along.... Always get the serial number, always get the history, always check it out with someone who has a mechanical bent! I still see machines on auction websites that do not have a correct set of safety bars or infeed chute length!
  18. All these red ones went to Australia!
  19. I tend to use the analogy that fuel consumption is relative to hp -23hp would use 2.3 litres per hour. I'll see if I can find if we have done anything more scientific than guesstimates..... Blades? I always favoured the round blades - that is based on the experience of owning two GreenMechs back in the 1990's and never buying any new blades in the 5 year ownership....Each blade is about 9 inches round and a 130(150 and 1928) has two rows of two which equates to each bank having 18 inches of cutting surface available. They are about £40 each which means that they are cheaper and last longer! Most people send them back to us (through their dealer) but the Ops book includes instructions so it can be done by an enterprising engineering company. I had a marvelous local Ag Engineer - Eddy George at Long Whatton do mine without hitch.
  20. Fuel economy is a reasonable question to ask. I would say that, generally speaking, if it is worked within its design parameters and fuel costs are factered in to your site costs - then, yes, it is fairly cheap to run. (How's that for a salesmans answer!) If you intend to use it for hours every day then put your prices up! It is a solid machine with a 6x9 gob, disc blades have epic life and the rest is proven in other models! One has to do the maths about how much it is intended to do and the price difference AND the fuel cost difference......
  21. Gammies at Forfar, Yarwoods at Inverness. Ring our Alastair on 07595 206036 for better local knowledge. Cheers.
  22. Good response Phil! Clarkie is a lost cause, but enjoys his banter!
  23. Id get a CS100! But then I am biased!
  24. Bearing on the blade size is purge, pulley side is a flange bearing which is 2/3 pumps per week. Ideally, spin the rotor while feeding it grease. Any bearing or grease point fed by a remote (and this incudes other makes too) should have some resistance in the "flow" of grease being pushed up the tube. Too easy and the tube could have come adrift and now not feeding the grease point. But, if it is too hard, then there maybe a blockage or restriction that is preventing the grease from reaching its desired location. As part of your maintenence regime, feel the flow and check the route to ensure the remote is doing the job properly.
  25. Hey Stuart, offer yourself as an interpreter to the dealer or talk to Guilhem or Emma at greenmech.fr
