  1. Hmm, they are still having a bit of bother with some of these.......cracks appearing in the casing, mounting pins bending and some convex's not recycling the material and making a right mess. The idea is top notch but flail heads work in a different manner to reels and the material they are asked to deal with is different. Fine on short grass at this time of year but doing first cuts or something fairly long or heavy - that takes some slower forward speed, a lot of care and increased maintance/repairs. Have you thought if an out front rotary or fitting a Muthing head to an out front?
  2. Labour rates at a workshop vary hugely from the rich south to the poor north! I've heard of rates as low as £45 to about £75! Some years ago, I ran a FreeLander for the GreenMech towtug and the rate then was £75 or if had been a Disco or RR, £105 per hour! Back then, the oil was £7 per litre too!!!
  3. Is there a shear mechanism that needs adjustment! I've heard of such things as two dimpled plates which had ball bearings in the dimples. These plates are forced together under spring tension and over time these springs can weaken....
  4. The new Timberwolfs are similar to the existing GreenMech range, namely, one turntable and one inline. Just like our Quadchip and Arborist 150, both of which changed the game having improved throughput and usability over other machines. While fitting into this sub 750kg market which exists in Europe....
  5. I do apologise for my atrocious spelling! Finger error on a tablet followed by the unerring ability to press "Go" before reading....
  6. I think so, but ba call to TW or your local supplier would be good. They eould have the expert knowledge on the dubject.
  7. The 6 inch GreenMech would run okay on an MF135 and maybe smaller. They need upwards of 25hp and hydraulic flow and return. I gave used the tipper circuit before and put return back into the neck of the filler. Check the spec at the GreenMech website..
  8. Should be a good time in September, a few new chippers on the market....should keep us salesfolk on their toes! Nowt like competition to keep us on our toes!!!
  9. I got a Bedford MK winch truck project - comes with an Atlas crane, in the brambles, it has been there since I started at GreenMech back in 98! You want to make me an offer?
  10. Tidy here, 32c and water at 27c, but then, Tunisia is likely to be hot!
  11. Ahem, our post knocker was so heavy, it was a two man job when doing a long stretch in dry stony ground. The one I used recently was defo a one man job and it was that light I did 50 x 3" round with only a little sweat. I hadn't done any for 15 years so I can vouch for it's lightness!
  12. Take the linkage off the spool valve and make sure that the spool is indeed going to the three postions. If the spools is locating properly in the three places an the correct speed is still not right then that is one issue eliminated. Do the rollers pull in (effectively) @ low speed, if they do, then it would appear to be solenoid related. Check the job on the valve again, is the nob turning and shaft renaining still? It is an easy enough system to work on.......
  13. Bill and Perce are long gone.....where are they now? Last I heard, Dan was truck driving and Perce was doing something with Dud Thompson! Anyone know better?
  14. Hey Kev, you could ask Keith at Cotswold Tree near Purton or try Stephen Cullis of Tree Maintenence in Stroud. How about asking Westonbirt or some such other establishment, golf club or leisure spot.
  15. There must be two or three of these at GreenMech factory!

    Jokes???

Well, thanks to genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way. Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt was married to O. Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, and owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock. Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition who was nick-named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt. Now when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt,' you can correct them. Sincerely, Crock O. Schitt

    Jokes???

I went to the Doctors to talk about my weight problem, I thought he said to me "Take more exercise and don't eat anything fatty" So I said to him "do you mean stuff like pies and chips. And stuff like that?" And he said "No, I mean don't eat anything", "FATTY!"

    Jokes???

Went to get a big tattoo of an Indian on my back last week, always wanted one. Halfway through, I said "Don't forget to put a big tomahawk in his hand". The tattooist said, "Give us a chance mate, I've only just finished his turban"
  19. Off memory, the 4jb unit was 75hp and a lump! Different engine mounts in fact different everything. Good of you to come forward with it mind. Well done for being thoughtful.

    Jokes???

    'Bout right, that....
  21. Top Tip Max! you good at the mo?
  22. It is such a "sorted" machine that very little has changed over the years. The gap between the blades and shear bar is set up in the factory and then locked. Get a suitable lever and see how much bearing play there is by moving the flywheel back and to along its axis. Ifvthere is loads, yack out the flywheel and fit new bearings and out it back. Check also the condition ifvthe shear bars whike it is out. Best off taking it to your GreenMech dealer and having them do it. That way you are earning while they are spending! GreenMech manuals are available as a download for current machines, others may be emailed out as a pdf.
  23. A second hand CS100 is as rare as hen's teeth! You could well end up having to wait a while before one comes up, call your GreenMech deaker and ask if there demk machine is up for grabs.
  24. Doug is the man! Good people at Tavy Chainswas......give him my best regards...
  25. Ouch! Your missus can't half swing a frying pan! Speedy recovery....how did you do it?
