  1. We have this at the woodland in the lakes to overlook our fishing lake. 5m x 5m and bought as a self build kit for just over £2k delivered. It came untreated and took about 6 coats of preserver on the outside until it stopped just drinking it. The inside has been treated with a fireproof varnish. This one has two seperate rooms inside which are big enough for beds, it is certainly a bigger space than a static caravan and cheaper than even the ex site ones.
  2. Start 2 women go 1 comes back 1 man goes 1 woman comes back 2 women go 1 woman comes back final man goes 1 woman comes back both women go Everyone is on the other side
  3. Hence when running long bars skip chain is better as there is less cutting per set length of chain so less chance of it all blocking up and therefore the chain keeps going at a decent speed. 50% cutting capacity at full speed is better than 100% cutting capacity when stopped.
  4. I don't do Tuesdays. Work around the school runs and nursery for the youngest one so short day Monday, no work Tuesday, full days weds, thurs and friday. Should hopefully get my grass cut this afternoon.
  5. Off the top of my head it is something like 60 feet from the centre line of a road, i.e. you could according to this law alone shoot from the hard shoulder of the M6 however you would be in breach of the law which covers causing distress to the public. You will not (usually) be asked technical questions, it isn't a test but an assessment of your suitability to hold a licence.
  6. where/what are you going to shoot? who you will be shooting with? where is your cabinet? who else has access to the house? are you a complete gun toting loony?
  7. We moved about 6 months ago and although my accounts show a healthy income and have done for the last 5 years the bank would only give the mortgage instantly if they listed me as unemployed. My wifes wage (employed) was enough for their computer system, hence it did not need my income but if they added it they mortgage had to be referred. This was with the same bank I have my company acounts with and have no debts at all other than the mortgage. Totally crazy
  8. A friend of mine has moved to the above and needs a firewood supplier. They are currently buying bulk bags from a builders merchant. Does anyone supply this area, I can't get the directory to tell me a local supplier. Thanks Kev
  9. Silly cheap set on ebay (BRAND NEW RADIO EAR DEFENDERS | eBay) but I don't think they will fit on helmets. Should be fine for connie trims etc
  10. Bolt heads look fine, thread looks fine, the bulk is just there for show so no issues there. Unless the teeth were starting to rattle around and not fitting tight then why change them?
  11. The cut and climb jacket is spot on. I am using the older version and nearly 12 months on and having been washed at least a dozen times it is still perfectly waterproof. Well worth the money
  12. It is not necessarily a no. I used to have a deal with a local farmer whereby he would deal with all my chip, rakings, stuff that needed burning etc in exchange for logs that he used for his own wood burner. He did take the softwood first and for me it was a damn good deal. I got a decent sized yard where I could make plenty of noise without complaint, use of a tractor and no financial outlay. It was however 4x4 only for 6 months of the year. Keep asking, especially if you are willing to take some of the more awkward/time consuming bits of wood. I still have someone come and take a trailer load a month of the knotty/bent/rotting/etc stuff that I can't be bothered to process for free.
  13. I use subbies quite a bit and always pay by bank transfer (or cash) in the evening of the day worked. There have been one or 2 occasions where I have had a slight delay but always paid within 48 hours. Like has been said they are making you money so pay them ASAP. I don't think it is right to make a subbie wait until you have been paid, cashed the cheque etc unless it is for a bug chunk of cash and it has been pre agreed with the subbie.
  14. So you want one of two things 1. Be able to under price your local competition who run the necessary kit and have the associated expenses to do the job properly or 2. Be able to charge the same as the other companies but make more profit. Why not just do as some other less professional 'companies' do and pile it up in the field before moving the caravan to a new site. Price the job properly!!
  15. Nissan Navara double cab which was also the daily transport, an old caravan chassis trailer a new MS230, biscuit tin 020AV and B&Q hedge trimmers. The trailer soon made way to a 4" arbor eater chuck and duck chipper which served me well for a year or so then got the 6" timberwolf I still have. I sold the Navara and bought a 130 defender flat bed non tipper which evolved over a year into a full tipper with arb body. This after 4 years made way for a transit. Everything has been bought without the need for finance, all saws and trimmers are now less than 2 years old. It's a small set up but it makes me a decent amount of money.
  16. Speak to Treequip (who has done a conversion) and search posts by armchairarborist (who owns said conversion)
  17. based on deans measurements there is 2" in it. 72" is 6ft. I must admit that since going from a landie to a transit there are a couple of drives I can no longer get down.
  18. £45 for a bulk bag is cheap provided your wood is good and dry. You could probably put that price up without issue to £55. As for your long (er) distance customers why not state a delivery charge of £x will be added for drops more than 10 miles from postcode AB12 3CD
  19. I broke the top handle on my 201T about a month ago, rang Justin's team up (FR Jones) and had a replacement in my hands in less than 24 hours. Spares are out there, FR Jones seem to have a massive range on the shelf. Maybe you need to look at dealers other than Money brothers????
  20. Besides the muppets feeling the need to put £3.50 in their euroboxes all the filling stations are fine. Don't let the idiots spoil your holiday plans.
  21. Just been to fill up the land rover and was asked by some chimp with a clipboard outside why I felt the need to fill up, he didn't seem to like the answer 'because the fuel light was lit on the dash'. There was a big queue and the bloke infront of me at the till had managed to put £8 in his Ford Focus, that must get him at least 40 miles.
  22. STC7764AA Defender radio fitting kit to end of 2001 | eBay A lot more money than I remember paying but it is all there including the speakers
  23. search ebay for a defender radio fitting kit. I did one a few years ago in a TD5 truck cab and the kit came with everything you need - radio holder, wiring loom, aerial. Fit the speakers in the lower dash.
