  1. 661 won’t give you white finger either !!
  2. Think they rails been for a 404 it would slap all over the place , I’ve never tried it though.. I do recall and I could be wrong that the 36” Oregon bar I had in my 395 May have possibly had 404 written in it but was 3-8 so wondering if could of been dual purpose with a nose sprocket change or if it was just the mount I’m thinking of.
  3. Are the 880’s not solid nosed ?
  4. My 395 is my oldest saw , it’s been a good saw, can’t fault it!
  5. Could of been worse John I’ve seen them rock up on a site make other travellers lives hell and then burn out there homes for a grand finale ... the fact they are one of the only segments of society that can get away with forced slavery , prostitution, battery ,theft and murder and are so ruthless that even there own community is too scared to do anything about sums up the situation.
  6. Every one knows Danny is liar
  7. Healthy fear of heights is good , trust in your gear is better. I would go and find the tallest tree you can climb it and have a move around then actually working in a 35fter will seem a breeze.

    Poles

Definitely an essential for ground crew and behind the truck seat. pulling out hangers on reductions can be invaluable.. I’d rather use a tag line rigging but they have saved the day on plenty of my jobs. Good call on 303 rough [emoji1303]
  9. Grass carp would be worth a try , get some Triploids so all they will want to do is eat and can’t breed. Some thing about using them in this https://dnr.wi.gov/files/PDF/pubs/ss/SS1048.pdf
  10. How do you know this for a fact ?
  11. Croll will work fine , just get the best elastic you can find.
  12. Depends on the sites , trees , jobs.... I have had horrific days of both , I don’t mind hand cutting it’s just boring and Dislike being on the same site for more than 3 days, I hate my fooking foresters tapes that cost a fortune for refills and keep breaking the stingers off ! Climbing can be easy and can be a nightmare and sketchy , grounding can be easy but also a ball breaker , the trick I think is to be fit and competent at the job and it’s no sweat either way. Other thing is to get a good Rhythm and it flys by , problem is with hand cutting jobs if you get in to a good rhythm your still expected to do the hours as with Tree surgery you can bosh it and go home. If I was hand felling for myself if I went for it all day I would be packing up at 3 and why I don’t like falling for others I’ve usually had enough by then and some folk won’t despite the laws of HAVS exposure. Must admit I’m really looking forward to winching wind blow off a steep slope tomorrow ... not.

  15. Pretty sure you could botch up some thing similar with some tubes ,tenex and a small cut down sealed sash pulley... what ever you use that’s in the style of the ascender it wants to be locking , those Chinese petzl croll type ascenders on eBay would do the job.
  16. Velox return block and double tubes ... mine from the out side is falling to bits , just wrapped it in electric tape! Don’t know if it’s worth trawling some chandlery web pages for any micro pulleys similar.
  17. Velox is a better design with no flat spots as it’s on a doubled up elastic , I’m pretty sure though they robbed the idea from the maker of the SAKA and saka have just been taken to court as well so you can not even get a buy the saka velox alternative ... well they still sell the mini version. Easy enough to make a basic knee acsender of your own with some decent elastic but I think unless you find some mini return type block that’s what’s like in the haas velox you would struggle to replicate that system. I found the spare elastic and tubing from a tree motion was pretty ideal.
  18. You could easily make quadruple or double off a days work in London when I was down saaarf... horrible though, traffic , parking , pedestrians... constantly looking over your shoulder for thieves I’d rather enjoy my work than some of the stresses but I did have s few good days !
  19. Carbons are mint , I would not use anything else!
  20. The concept of feminism I wholly agree with, I really do and think it’s a great quality for a woman to have.

    Red Creek Fir

I wanna ask you if you have a job , it looks lush ! Would love to fish that river! I know around my way the clear fells are not replanted straight away because of pine weevil , it takes at least a couple of years to bring the population down after felling, felling for some reason brings out a boom in the population ,even with spraying and sticking more crap in to the environment after that time it is still hit n miss but they recon if planted In those first two years it would absolutely decimate replanting and make it a failure .... but then again yours is a different environment.
  22. 15 mins it says.. I don’t think thats bad, tracked chippers starting around 9k second hand and you might not want the hassle of running and insuring two machines , I would look at one for sure.
  23. Looks a great idea to me.. would like to see a video of what it’s capable of....also benefit any one that can’t tow over 750kg as a tracked chipper n trailer is out the question, also often the sites that need a tracked chipper the trailer is miles away so that is always a worry it will get stolen.
  24. We are spoilt for choice these days ! I think it’s down to the individual but I found the protos offered very poor hearing protection, using any thing other than a topper was painful to the ears , stihl ground saws seemed alright but the screaming husky auto tunes no good.
  25. I think it’s higher to be honest..
