Here is my speaking bollox advice mate , It's the weekend get drunk and see how you feel Monday, maybe take some time off and do some thing you enjoy out side of tree work... Probably not the best advice but if tree works in your blood you won't be able to do anything else... I've tried about 11 years ago after doing ten years in the industry and witnessing a succession of bad accidents and after a month I was itching like mad to get back in it and came in back stronger. I know plenty who have moved on and all didn't regret it though and found jobs that didn't involve so much stress,hard work or weather elements !, I was told statistics in the industry were around 5 years for a climber before they become burnt out or don't want to do it and I've worked with a lot of people who after time didn't want to be there and it was not good for the crew and probably led to more accidents happening. Either way I can say in time it won't haunt you in the way it does now and you definitely will think twice about being in certain situations if that's good or bad as I don't know the circumstances involving your crew. All the best.

Chain saw on a stick

Got a couple of 560's the first ran with out fault until bottom end gave up I did not hesitate to buy another as its easily the best handling and powerful saw in the 60cc class I've used..I'm happy if I get 2 years out of a saw. It gave up because of the crank case which has now been redesigned and is available as a new short end block with new crank for £180 from husky so it was well worth fixing imo. All new saws have the new crank case so it should not be a problem now but time will tell I guess

No bother ordering them I searched for the jreds piston and a few came up ... I guess they all signed up to the international shipping program earlier this year.

Dunno mate but picked one up yesterday at a bargain price because it was end of season and they had sold out of none xpg's.... Started snowing on the way home and today there is a harsh frost so maybe it was not a bad choice already

That's the problem solved with the piston ! It definitely needs 2 exhaust bolts. Personally if it was my saw I would get the parts and send to spud.He will find any problems that may have caused that damage and is a top saw mechanic. Saw looks a beast , would like to see it going.

There are transfer covers on the side of the strato engine these just need the finn restrictors removing...every thing in the strato versions unlike the 365/372 normally aspirated two stroke is identical they just restricted the saw with the transfer cover.

Personally would not call the 560 or 550 blocking down saws, I may have got the original post wrong but to me a blocking down saw is a saw with torque around 70cc capable of a bar of 20-24" , stihls In this category are the 441 or 461 and they cost a lot more than £600 although the 560 is more than capable of working on a 18" bar its more than £600 and a little to highly strung to ring up large timber all day long.

Try one jonny I think you will be impressed. I've hammered one on a recent dead elm clearance with bramble and elder thrown in and it handled it all on par with a 190

The lucky launcher ... It's good fun but not as good as the big shot in terms of accuracy and the shot distance varies massively despite the cartridge colours supposed to determine distance as Darrin says the big shot is better. Tree kits launcher looks good in the videos I've seen though but again I recon it won't be as consistent as the big shot from my brief experience with propelled launchers.

You can pick up a husky 365 for under £600, your not going to get any other 70cc saw worth buying for under £600 I recons !

I've found with reductions as long as there is no pressure to get it done in stupid time they are usually the climbs I enjoy.

My newer hardly used 560 has snapped its throttle cable is this an easy repair or do you have to take the saw to bits? Just weighing up doing it myself or trying to get it done under warranty.

That AV spring looks remarkably straight stubby ? How long did that last?

I have brought sections in the past after accidents .. Not the cheapest fix though.
