  1. Sour grapes by some one who needs to get a life to me.
  2. Pulling a saw with less cc's over is easier ,Weight is another issue but one I don't think is a major.
  3. If your not a hairy arse tree worker I can see this been a good choice. My misses struggles with my 540 ,201 and 200's
  4. That's pretty much what I did tim , I did find a single hand ascender quite helpful at first to pull me around the tree as well as you can't body thrust .. The double hand is pretty quick as well and more ergonomic on long ascents but a lot more tiring than a haas
  5. What saws do you use ?
  6. This must be them ! Must admit I don't usually touch any thing unless I know what it does , I see wilsons did or do a forestry spec valtra with no electrics... Manual pto and gears which sounds good.
  7. Where's this mate? Can't find it in the manual ? It started working again when we came back to it the next day
  8. Which ever ones sharper... Can't beat a ported 560 with pop up though
  9. Same as you mark , I think some folks have no problems grasping it at all but I never abseiled or used a single line in my life and my whole career had been on a double rope system... It took a while, it's far from perfect in comparison to the flow I had with double ropes but I would not go back.
  10. Best for stiff wood that one.
  11. Damn forgot the 150!!! Can we have 7 saws, I need a 262 and 461 also on that list!
  12. 540 550 560 395 Could work in any situation with those 4 and be happy with there performance, anti vibes and ergonomics .... The last choice would be for nostalgia so a dolmar 166.
  13. I was thinking about this today's and would retract my original post... if we leave the EU it would definitely loose value... On the other hand I can't see that happening.
  14. Where abouts are you Cris ?
  15. Cool work reg, a friend of mine was talking about going out and doing this a few years back but said how many you were expected to do in a day and I thought Hmm could probably manage it for one day then need a week off.
  16. Cheers daren 👍🏻
  17. Trees at risk from barbers chair would be heavily leaning or weighted trees, or some times even light leans with say ash at the wrong time of year (usually around now ! ) so basically your putting in your back cut as standard felling cut and the tree starts to split before you have finished the cut leaving a proper hinge... The felling cut was on the face of this mess!
  18. Is it the yellow thing that's inside the cab in this photo ?
  19. It's an old tractor though! Will have a look in the morning.
  20. Cheers , can't say I have ever noticed that.
  21. I watched a cyclist the other day when I stopped at a red light at some road works come flying past me and weave in to the closed lane and travel along until he nearly went down the trench been dug , my eyes could not believe it.
  22. It was intermittent all day which was another strange thing.
  23. Is that a kill switch for the pto ?
  24. Miles apart tom , the diff lock switch is on the gear controls and the pto over the right rear arch.. Stop switch ? Where is this CHC ??
