    Poles

Jameson here, great. Have 4 x 6foot poles with lopper, saw and cable raiser. Would be near £170 for that set now I dare say. Not used Stein, sorry.
  2. Daniel, lets say you convinced me that you have made all the correct decisions on pruning for this tree(stubs etc). So can you now explain why you used an invasive bracing system on such an unhealthy tree, like earlier commented on?
  3. Rob, this has been covered several times before but here's a link to a thread I did on it; http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/8589-ms660-ms460-air-filter-upgrades.html Get yourself a HD filter though and buy two or three socks for the outer. Part No 0000 141 0300 A As far as e-mailing Stihl, I wouldnt bother they arent interested!
  4. Totally agree with you Rob, thats how Daniel comes accross to most. But Daniel, are you saying your variation of Shigo's pruning target theories are better than his as far as the well being of the tree goes, ie, healing times/properties to prevent pathogen encroachment etc?
  5. Reading this I'm glad I just got another 200! Perhaps after you guinea pigs have given feedback to Stihl, when I need another the issues will be ironed out. Hope so anyhow!
  6. They are auto bleed. Following recent issues with mine, I have been advised to tow the truck to start it as the starter motors are not upto constant cranking to bleed through!
  7. If all goes wrong and you take one out, as Rupe says its doubtful you would warrant a claim anyhow, but in my experience its the assessor who visits site following the breakage who decides if you pay or not. If you get on his better side by being polite, appologetic and show you did all possible to avoid damage he may sympathise:thumbup1:
  8. So Daniel, as queried by Frosty, why was there very little/if any pruning done in the top canopy?
  9. Ben, this is something Ill be interested seeing replies on. I looked into this a couple of years ago and it seemed the nearest I got was asking a clued up plumber. He said it was doable, only downside maybe that you would need to switch manually from one boiler to the other, but with some extra fancy electrics two pumps couls be wired to thermostats and switch automatically but he said to ask a sparky if it was doable.
  10. Daniel, what was the skid steer doing at 0.41 and 1.01?
  11. Nick, you really know your stuff! Seems you have mastered all of your many ventures:thumbup:
  12. We were there last week Johnny. Lovely place. Looks like you all had a great time.
  13. Sounds a good way forward Joy, afterall the verbal way seems to be a very difficult way of education!
  14. Processed green straight into bulk bags, greenhouse seasoned, loaded with loader and tipped out of bag at clients.
  15. Sounds like you are in a different catagory, you obviously didnt catch this disease, you were infected by your parents!
  16. Sounds like the best way forward for me, guess Ill be giving it a try just need a good bit of time and plenty of patience! Lol! Cheers for that Bob, but I dont have a mini mill. Hence why I asked if there was a particular way to do it with the alaskan. Thanks anyhow.
  17. Just wondering, is it possible to cut square beams easily with the alaskan? I have a 4 foot standard mill and only ever done planks with it but would like to do a few beams. Not real sure how to get the side cuts at 90 deg before or after cutting the desired thickness. Any info would be a help:thumbup: Cheers, Pete.
  18. I just clicked on this thinking I was somewhere else! Looks good Rob, I can see an oak one of them coming to my house soon!
  19. I just love the mentality of farmers. They think they can do anything, know it all and do it the best of anyone, but when it all goes wrong there was a real good excuse lined up!

    201 t

The 200 was blunt had a bigger bar, and the guy using it didnt give it full throttle due to wearing muffs! Other than that, my muffler modded 192 would of shown both of them up! Ha ha!
  21. Sounds like an interesting bish bash bosh job Rob, you going to get some pics and do a thread when its done?
  22. Sounds interesting. Its the first Ive heard of it. I know there's been talk of it for many years, even stopping production all together but nothing ever seemed to happen. As you say, guess we have to wait and see. Just hope they dont lose too much of the "good bits" of the trusted landy.
  23. Sure do, thats what the thread is for:thumbup:
