  1. Oh dear we have some really skilled pikeys round us............
  2. Know what you mean pete, it does make it more difficult to use, flopping around!
  3. Oh, and definately bolted grab for me too:smokin: P.S. Sorry steve, i know its the tree pics........
  4. Too right tim, but i would like to add to what you say, that doing as pete says, in a risky situation putting your flip line to the D will save you getting squashed to the stem, BUT in this case you should definately not bypass your soft link. That is your means of rescue, and obviously its already known this would be an action taken in tricky situation. Not lecturing vduben, just trying to refresh a few minds as to why the soft link is put in the lanyard.
  5. Our Pete may not be an old geezer yet, but he sure is a wise dooood:thrasher:
  6. Oh well, dont worry matt, bet i`d have been on the floor before you came down! Dare say you can still go back to the job can you?
  7. You should patent that style. Very realistic:151:
  8. Just seeing that root formation reminded me of one i saw at Aysgarth falls, North Yorkshire. This is more to do with erosion though;
  9. Heres one of snoopy after a weekend camping! Think she was glad to be home:beer:
  10. My Peg again, this time with Snoopy, both getting ready for a hard day. Sorry about quality!
  11. Sounds to me like you are probably doing the best thing with the wedges silvafox. If you cannot use a hinge of any sort, you aint going to have any directional control anyway, so provided you arent creating a danger from that, accept you might get a few hang ups. better that than tearing out the base. The other thing is, try get more wedges(even a full row, side by side) in behind the saw to stop nipping, especially on bad leaners.
  12. Ok, just getting my head round this one, if going on what andy says, while reducing a domestic conifer hedge say, you find a couple of pidgeon chicks in a nest, you cannot disturb them. Yeh? But while you are sat in this hedge the parents of said chicks go and land in a farmers field, they, as Iain says, can be shot for being vermin. Yeh? So does that mean you can now put the poor chicks out of their misery as they no longer have parents?? Mmmm:BoomSmilie_anim:
  13. In that case, not real sure if there are many manufacturers of circulars now due to difficulties fitting guards (HSE, etc, etc). Suppose there would be nothing to stop you buying an old saw unit and fitting onto a modern machine, (ive seen that done) im sure you would pick one up reasonably priced.
  14. When you say "saw for trimming" do you mean a flail, recipricating knife or circular? My father has run mcconnel for near 20 years (approx 1000 hrs/yr) and not had to much trouble. http://www.mcconnel.com/Default.htm

  16. Sorry pete and burn, was a while before i found the thread! Here goes with my main employee;
  17. Oh dear, here goes, and yes, in my defence i was drunk:ciao:

    Wood burner

    Only ever had one, years ago. I got really bad bleeding through because of no liner, and that was on the inside through the wallpaper:cussing: Suppose it was in the late 80`s when i burned lots of dead elm. Was very tarry stuff and seemed to be especially bad when i shut the stove down overnight, seemed to be better when the stove was breathing a bit.
  19. Well spotted ed, its amazing what us yorkshiremen can do:p
  20. Sure lee there are a lot of avid ifor followers, but i hear that they dont use anyone elses components now and make everything in house. Perhaps this could have affected the finished article- i have heard of other people not being as happy with the newer trailers, as ed says. We also have anther god manufacturer quite local to us, Edwards Trailers, they make a comparable trailer to ifor, but they and Atlas seem to be around £1200 cheaper.
  21. Anyone got any views on these trailers, seem good money and the spec on paper seems to have what im looking at; http://www.atlastrailers.co.uk/
  22. I have a 360 muffler modded and it seems to run better than the older 036. My biggest success is with my 192t, it has a massive output over standard and now as a result gets more use than the 200!
  23. All looks great so far steve, keep it going mate.
