I havent seen the film, so I dont know how they presented it, but by the time he cut it off I believe he had pretty much lost all feeling and use of the limb anyway, through the crush injuries. -
As Yale or any manufactorer will tell you, their in house splices are finished using brute force, whereas a hand splice relies on finess and skill.

I have the Stretchairs, had them nearly 4 years now, had plenty of use in that time, but they are very very expensive. I will probably try a pair of SIP next.

With regard to the chassis modifications, all you have to do is fill in a form detailing the changes you have made and take it to a VOSA testing station, they give it the once over and decide if its up to scratch. It doesnt make any difference to insurance, in fact a high proportion of trucks are lengthened or shortened at some point in their working life, quite often by the supplying dealer prior to purchase. It is due a new headboard at some point, although that one is a lot stronger than it looks. There are plenty of flat artic trailers carrying timber with no headboard at all, not my idea of fun though!

Forgot to add earlier, one other downside for the rower: The sequence of actions used to row is very similar to ones you already do at work, ie pulling the oar towards you is much the same as body thrusting/brash dragging/pulling ropes, and the leg press part of the row action is very much like lifting logs or footlocking. As part of a workout no problem, but again if you want just one machine, and you do tree work during the day, then get something that uses completely different movements, otherwise you will just be working the same joints and muscle groups twice over.

They do give you a good all round going over, but if you want just one machine at home that will do the best all round workout then get a cross trainer. Personally I hate cross trainers, and I'd have a treadmill before getting either of them, but that's just my personal preference. If you are looking at buying a proper rower that will last forever look at a Concept 2.

I have dug some holes with it, once a client asked me if I could remove a shrub and grind the roots out, just swung the grapple round, stuck the blades in the ground either side of the rootball and squeezed the whole lot out in one! Thats one thing you cant do with a brick grab!

Had one, used it to pick some logs up, sold it for a handsome profit. On a sensitive surface a good operator will tickle the blades of the grapple under the log while lifting at the same time, getting a good grip and avoiding damage to the ground. I have lifted plenty of logs off lawns and tarmac drives without so much as a scratch.

A good operator will do the same with a log grapple.

Swap the grapple and rotator, the brick grab rotator will work, but isnt really up to the job. Original piping is fine, but you may need to fit a pressure limiting device to avoid damage to the log grapple, as most hiab cranes run at around 300 bar, whereas log loaders tend to run at around 220 bar.

I have a brand new HD filter with that part number on the bag in front of me, and it does include a blue brillo.

Every 660 I have ever used with the standard filter has got fine dust inside the filter, cant be good for the engine. Same filter on the 441, no problem at all.

HD filter is identical to the standard one, but it has a blue brillo pad type insert in it.

'Arf arf! You could always put some seat covers in the back. Personally I'd rather not have smelly chainsaws in the cab at all.

Used to use a cabstar with grabber at2s on, did seem to help a lot with the sticky stuff.
