I know Mark, and I’m a bit tongue in in cheek, and English is a second language for a lot of people, speaking the lingo must help?

My point is, if you make laws that make it impossible to apply for asylum from certain countries, they will travel over land and cross the busiest shipping lane in the world to get here.

And then you kick them out Australia has the right idea, but young single males should be removed straight away as economic migrants.

Read up on Australian immigration law before you comment on it, (my brother was one until he.married an Ozzy) their points system takes a lot of reading to understand. It’s not as simple as you might think. Many immigrants get to stay.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t stay but they take a very dim view of boat people,

So do we in the Uk, but if laws are made to stop people applying for asylum from their own countries they will get here by boats. Some joined up thinking is needed. With the likes of SB in charge (who can’t answer questions at an enquiry) I can’t see that happening. Can you?

-First 180 of planned 1,000 tanks will be supplied from South Korea, defense minister announces - Anadolu Agency

Thats alot of new tanks.

So much for the talk of tanks becoming obsolete or at least less important due to UAV's etc?

So Poland will have the biggest tank army in Europe.

Our own track record of reducing the armed forces over the past 30 years is tantamount to criminal incompetence and neglect.

The Oscars.

Now I'm a massive sci-fi fan. I'll watch almost anything so long as it's based on a good idea, even if the execution is poor.

Everything, Everywhere, all at Once is a film I watched last year. It was OK. The idea was OK, the execution was OK. I considered myself moderately entertained. I can think of about 50 sci-fi films that were better.

Without wishing to devolve the conversation into aspersions of forced inclusivity, is there any rational explanation for it cleaning up at the Oscars? I just cannot understand it.

I haven’t seen any of the films, but I see where you’re coming from.
Giving awards for ‘art’ is always going to be subjective and liable to abuse.

Paddington 2 and Hugh Grant didn’t get Oscars which was a scandal imo.
