  3. Home - Hillcard Ltd HILLCARD.CO.UK Hillcard Ltd These guys are at Bodenham, just a few miles north of Hereford. Had some sleepers from them a few years ago. Prices and service good, and they had a decent range from memory.
  4. Someone has had a few beers, carafe of rose and on €4/1.5ltr of red with dirty glasses on too! Best wishes Flick!
  5. yes, my grandfather had one, I recall it had a kickstart under the bonnet, and no reverse gear, but the steering would point the wheel 90 deg in either direction which helped a little to turn it around.

  7. @Andy full Education/training wise the obvious next step is to do your Level 4. This will open the door to tree officer and consultant roles, but will also bring a lot to your every day Arb work. In the meantime, a change is as good as a rest - it sounds like you're just stuck in a bit of a rut where you are and who you're working with, and have become the go to person for big dismantles. Lots of decent firms inside the M25 rely on good subby climbers for nice reductions, deadwooding etc. I'd do a bit of market research on companies in whatever bit of London you want to end up in and reach out to them for a few shifts. You can have a lot of variety and if you're good you can pick and choose who you work for. You could keep an eye out for Arborist jobs with the City of London who have in-house teams that look after Hampstead Heath and Eppong Forest. Otherwise I think the Royal Parks have contractors do their tree work and local authorities will have a mix. As others have said IRATA /Industrial rope access is another option with lots of work in on London, but I've never met someone in rope access that wasmt working on their exit strategy out of the industry.

  12. It’s not that bad Ruben, I think the 4x4s are about £1500 a year for any driver with a U.K. license. It’s probably double what it was but I also added in sdp as well,is £750 extra pa too expensive when it’s the difference between a nipper working or not ? Bob
  13. I'll be quite unhappily climbing it.
  14. Oliver Coombs at timber auctions in york would be a good man to talk to as he would auction it off as a standing sale for you , so basicaly sold to a harvesting crew who would cut process and remove from site so you wouldnt need to do owt only watch and take a few photos and then take payment,,
  15. cordless angle grinder? As above, repairing fences manualyl is pretty soul destroying. Replacing the odd post is fine, but if its more than that (and it must be if the wire is rusting) its getting to the stage of full replacement.
  16. Look I'll admit its a bit weird. But why did it leave two saws dry as a done and hot within a short space of time. Replacing bars and saws is expensive and not something I want to experiment with. Im going to try gator oil next. Ive used petrol or acetone with a brass wire brush. Horrible job though.

Mitsubishi L200 2.5 Kingcab (2 doors, 4 seats), 109,677 miles - MOT for 12 months. This 5 speed manual diesel pick up has been professionally converted in to a hydraulic tipper, this conversion was carried out in 2021 and the truck has been used little since, as it was purchased to complete a job in a inaccessible place. The tipper is constructed using a steel box frame, a steel plate bed and removable aluminium sides/ rear tailgate, so it can be easily converted in to a flatbed if required. The hydraullic tipping bed is controlled by an in-cab remote control on a lead, it controls the up and down operation (please see photos and video). The bed size is 6'2'' long x 5'6'' wide. To my knowledge the hydrullic pump and ram were new at the time of fitting. The truck was last serviced at 109, 441 miles with a engine and gearbox oil change plus filters etc., however it could do with some of the auxillary belts changing as they squeal under load. The truck itself is in used condition, it starts first time with no smoke and pulls along a full load with no issues. If you are looking for a pristine vehicle then this one probably isn't for you, however if you want a dependable workhorse then it definatly fits the bill. Bank transfer as payment, no canvassers, salespeople or oil scammers!

  19. Get it gone on EBay to try and recover some of your losses and buy a decent machine, Husqvarna K760/770 or oil guard version even better, by far the best power cutter on the market.
  20. Remember most of Europe has been on summer shutdown, which is effectively 6 weeks. 3/4 weeks for McCormick, 3/4 weeks for whoever makes the casting or machining, then shipping if it's FedEx a couple of days, pallets are 2/3 weeks unless you have volume then a week.

  22. They look bloody good. Ebay might be an option as collection only or delivery for a fee, or the likes of Etsy, I've sold a few turned bits on Etsy. Other than that, getting word out via friends and family/work colleagues is another option, as well as the above local stuff

    Ladders

After a whole week of unnessasary stress.. the re-sent DPD ladder changed from "at depot", to "returning to sender". I sped off to rescue them, no time to find straps for the roof rack, they would have to fit in the car! Neither DPD or DX could give me any rational explaination. Got them home. Got the comical cardboard wrapping into the recycling. Its not perfect, theres a small dent on the top rung and the weld quality is hidden by the plastic covers. At 8 rungs its very stable. I'll find somewhere better and without sandles before I try 15 rungs, but it would give a working height near roof level of the average house.
