  3. Drifting off topic Γ  bit.. This thread has caused me to remember my rigging course (as part of ten weeker at Merrist Wood) My take outs from that were that they concentrated on stuff that you hardly, if ever, used, stuff like horizontal lowering of big branches using two ropes, or an entire day spider-legging branches, I feel that they could/should have worked more on the basics. Long time ago of course.
  4. You can't ring for an appointment any more at our surgery . It all has to be done on line now . People kicked against it initially but it seems to be working smoothly now .
  5. Good Morning. Bit moist out there. Off to Hounslow for a Team Meet. Deep Joy on a Friday. Have a good start to the weekend.

  7. It was a bizarre period, insects that were thought to be harmless and friendly turned against us in a Hitchcockian manner. The summer was unprecedented, people getting water from standpipes. John Noakes taking a shower in his swimming trunks on Blue Peter to illustrate how more economical it was compared to a bath. It had an End of Days feel to it.

  9. That’s what they are paid for and trained to do. I’d imagine he will sleep well tonight once the adrenaline subsides.
  10. this is a shame to read i have a 2017 avant i brought second hand, and the customer service i have personally received from avant themselves has been amazing.
  11. Stihl released the 500i six years ago. They're the bollocks. Why aren't more saws injected by now?
  12. Did you rate it as a grinder though Josh? Pretty sure that’s the one Ross White had, and thought it was mentally good, possibly too good for the size/weight. Like an animal 8” chipper that weighed 400kg.
  13. @Anno who's this then, from a few year back.

    Jokes???

Researchers have discovered why women put on weight once married. A single woman, after a night out, returns home looks at what's in the fridge and goes to bed. A married woman, after a night out, looks at what's in the bed and goes to the fridge.

  18. They're pretty simple machines. Mine jammed up the other day when a fork went through it but the overrun clutch on the PTO shaft saved the day. The product is fiddly to burn but you can really fill a stove up and it goes for a long time. It gets choked up on brash but it's a decent way of reducing bulk if you don't have a chipper

  21. Tried a pair of these on in store felt pretty good. Can anyone vouch for their long term comfort, any good with spikes? Any good for hiking as well- I know they’re stiff and a bit heavy Cheers
  22. A nice bag of ArbSurplus rope ends, most appear to be around 5m. Pair of saw lanyards, decent quality, made in UK.
  23. Cheers for them answers. I hadn't thought about roadsise to be honest Mark, I might get away with that in spring when tree work's quiet. Thanks for the tip about Chainsaw Bars UK too, I get most of my milling kit that way but since Brexit I pay big import duties on it. He's got a load of Manpa stuff too I've seen which might be useful. I would probably be able to justify the expense if I knew I could sell some work off the back of it. Carving more would be a good start. Cheers again for your help, I probably will give you a shout Mark next time I'm over visiting.
